A local Brownsville bar was shut down for allegedly selling alcohol without a permit.

The bar, once called Xolchi’s on Boca Chica Boulevard, sold a bottle of Miller Lite to an undercover Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission agent.

On Friday, the investigation ensued to determine if they were selling alcohol without a license.

The bar did not have a permit or license to sell alcoholic beverages.

At around 9:15 p.m. two agents entered Xolchi’s and bought a beer for $1.75 from bartender Casimiro Hernandez.

Agents seized 140 bottles of Michelob Ultra, Bud Light, Budweiser, and Miller Lite.

Hernandez was arrested for selling alcoholic beverages without a license, and was booked at Cameron County Jail.

According to the Alcoholic Beverage Code, Hernandez will face up to a $1000 fine and/or one year in jail.

Yes that’s why it’s back...really I think its comeback started with the movie Blue Velvet . Still you think a bunch of over educated hipsters could taste piss when they drank it.

They go with the cheapest thing around, but shell out whatever the cost for stuff like clothing. And guitars, well, they go vintage, and vintage Gibson Les Pauls don’t cost less than $5,000 if they’re in good condition.

I wondered about the Les Paul thing. I went to Tulane in the late 70s and my roommate was collecting them. He was picking them up in New Orleans for like $50.00. I spose you could say the same about muscle cars too

That would be worth a small fortune today.
