Cruise has been in such a series of bombs and formulaic movies recently that I wait until his movies are on cable to watch them.

Saw it yesterday...have to say it was one of the best movies I’ve seen in a while and ranks right up there with one of the best sci-fi movies ever.

I was surprised how good the acting was from Olga Kurylenko and Andrea Riseborough. A lot of people are going to miss out because of their prejudices against Tom Cruise (for being a scientologist). People claim that he’s in the closet, he might be a closet conservative with roles like this one and Jack Reacher.

There’s another reason why I have a hard time taking Cruise seriously in action movies... because he is short. Still, he CAN turn in a good performance (I thought he was fantastic as a damaged, narcissistic motivational speaker in “Magnolia”).

I wanted to see it Friday with my 11 YO son but one site said it had some nudity so I didn’t want to take him. Can anyone confirm this?

When I was in my early 20s I worked in a sporting goods store. A Navy SEAL came in one day (he was in his dress white with his SEAL insignia) to buy a swimsuit. I guess he was no taller than 5’7”.

It’s a good movie you should see in the theater. If you are on a budget go see it at a cheaper time.

Nothing at all personal against the interests you enjoy, I myself have nothing but disdain for Tom Cruise, for no other reason other than being a horrible actor, has me never seeing his movies. Okay. The fact that he claims to have these special powers, (listed below) and his alternative sexual lifestyle does contribute to the sense in which I find him most contemptible.

Special Powers Tom Cruise Claims to Have
Janet Reitman says that Cruise is OT VII (Operating Thetan of the highest level in mortal-talk), which means he's achieved all he can achieve in his current form, including the ability to control everything around him. Or so his fellow Scientologists believe, at least. “OTs are Scientology's elite – enlightened beings who are said to have total 'control' over themselves and their environment,” Reitman writes. “OTs can allegedly move inanimate objects with their minds, leave their bodies at will and telepathically communicate with, and control the behavior of, both animals and human beings,” the author further says in the expose. “At the highest levels, they are allegedly liberated from the physical universe, to the point where they can psychically control what Scientologists call MEST: Matter, Energy, Space and Time,” she explains.

The nudity is Andrea’s backside for about 5 seconds in a pool.

Do you have any evidence that he is gay?
