Basically what else Cooper said: if you’re going to use one, don’t miss the eye. Practice on golf balls.
You can find 12g at the ammo store.

(I can't ever get pictures to post right on this site. I loath HTML. Why has this site never gone to more user friendly software?
Sig P6 9mm
Good article on the pros and cons of pocket pistols, also mentioned it’s good not to have mentality as if the little piece is a holy totem which will protect one from evil. Read up on real life scenarios and often perps are shot and simply run off. In the role of offense, it’s a different story but one of defense, you’ll have to keep shooting until the threat is stopped, and you’re probably going to face several attackers. Got enough ammo and enough gun(s)?
Nowadays one can shoot 9mm in a small package which was formally reserved just for .380 acp. New pieces like the Sig Sauer P290 or Smith n Wesson M&P Shield. Of course there’s always the reliable simple standbys like snubby .38 from Smith n Wesson, Charter Arms, Ruger ,etc. Though have noticed price spikes on these guns in past year.
If you own firearms, a pocket gun or small frame piece is a must have!
for a secondary or backup;
a roving piece you can move around your body or into coats/jackets;
non-permissive environments where deep concealment is necessary;
or when at the range putting up targets always wise to have a piece on you downrange of the firing line where guns/ammo are. Never know who can come up on you.
Things like going out to dump the trash or get the mail in shorts, jogging pants, etc something light and lovable along can give you a tingle.
For such roles I have a 9mm Kel Tec PF9 loaded with 115 grain hollowpoints (lighter grainage is recommended) lubed with grease, or a Smith and Wesson snub nosed 642 .38 special, but understand the limitations of these..and in summer I dress around my normal medium frame pistols, or there’s a variety of discreet carry totes to hold extra gun, ammo.
Plus it’s always good to carry knives..but that’s another thread!
I was talking with a guy my age (65) who got mugged last month. He wasn’t able to get his pistol out of his pocket in time to ward off the first punch. He was on his knees and grabbed the guys leg, pulled him in close, stuck his tiny Kahr CW45 between the guys legs and fired four rounds straight up. The show was over before the mugger knew what happened.
Where did you get that grip?? I want one.
This thread will explain how to post pictures

Cobra .38?
Great gun. For pocket carry the 16 lb DA trigger pull is a feature, not a bug. But wear gloves when you practice unless you don’t mind leaving bloody handprints at the range.
kahr pm9 laser
Got it from Midway. They rather confusingly put it in their holster section:
Thanks! Looks like I forgot to “close” the img...
I’m used to the format on other forums. That is just what I started with. Almost every forum I go to has an interface where you do not need to know HTML now.
Sweeeeet!
