By rights American asylums should be filled to capacity.

I guess all visitors from Japan are terrorists.

How stupid is this? Follow the logic out. Private individuals are prevented from taking photographs in public venues. Then, when a terrorist act occurs, investigators have to rely on nothing but those grainy security cam shots. Good Grief.

South Florida Cops now have cover to abuse the citizens, after all you don't want to anger the state apparatus by filming them.
You could be a terrorist if you do!

They’re coming for your cameras and video recorders next.

Misused ‘discrete’. Does the FBI want help with that Magistrate or not?

Ban and confiscate all cameras.

It’s a hard question. The only really effective point at which things like the Boston bombing can be interdicted is in the preoperative phase. One major part of that is counter surveillance - noticing when someone is casing a target. Cops are naturally going to want to err on the side of their interests in this area, so folks need to push back if there is to be any sort of protection of individual liberties.

Actually, I AGREE with them. The government is planting cameras everywhere and I believe they are up to no good.

I guess these guys have never heard of “street view” on google maps.

Perhaps the bombing could have been prevented if they did not tell anyone the route the race would take or where the finish line was. /s

Listen to this one. I was at Newark Airport on layover with nothing to do so I walked around the terminal. I saw these Muslims in full attire taking photos out the window (they looked like an innocent group to me - but what do I know).

I looked over their towel covered heads and saw the beautiful skyline of Manhattan.

Well, after they left I figured I'd take the same photo of Manhattan. After taking the first photo there was a tap on my shoulder.

"No photos are to be taken here!" said the TSA or Homeland Security officer who looked like he'd just got off shift and was heading home. "Turn around and get moving and I'll forget what I just saw" he told me.

By the way, this happened a few years ago. The time frame was not after the recent attack on Boston.

Aside from the inherent stupidity of this.

“Could lead to terrorism” doesn’t follow from “could be interpreted as terrorism”.

It’s a bit like saying that hearing voices could “lead to” mental illness.

I know that half of us are below average, but can we all agree that only above average people should be in positions of authority? I’d really like to see the top fiver percent of capable people in positions of authority, but I guess the lower 95 percent would get all democratic and pull out the guillotine.
