It was a crime scene that police admitted they were not even going to attempt to reach - because it was near the peak of Mount Everest, the worlds highest mountain.
Two European climbers were reported today to have been involved in a fierce fight with their Sherpas at 7,000m, close to Camp 3 and not far from the 8,848m summit.
According to unconfirmed reports, fists flew in the snow as Simboli Moro, an Italian climber, and Wool Stick, from Switzerland got into a punch-up with the guides.

Wool Stick, hardee, har, har, Wool Stick!
7000m
Now That’s funny, nailed it!
From the story, the Europeans were “...thrashed.” meaning they were beaten black and blue...probably mostly blue at that height.
Climbers have to get a climb permit which I believe costs around $25,000-$30,000 US dollars. I doubt if these guys will be getting a refund.
I was thinking that the fight started when the second group arrived in town, and asked a woman, the wife of a member of the first group, where they could hire some guides.
She told them, they thanked her, and hired some good guides.
Later, one of the second group said to the husband in the first group, “Thanks to your wife, my whole group got Sherpas!”
“And then he hit me, officer!”
I cannot believe they are trying to summit this early in the year. Most years the weather window is mid to late May.
Must be a warm spring in Nepal.
Now that I think about it, they were probably climatizing themselves.
They walk part way up Everest, then back down again many times before attempting to summit.
The story says the Sherpa guides started the fight.
I think the book “High Crimes” deals with these shenanigans...
Why don’t they put in solar-powered light rail up that glacier highway? Would save a whole lot of time and obviate these silly spats.
Or a cable car to the summit?
Disney Amusement Park on top with special Gay Days every so many months.
-- Wool Stick.
I prefer the tropics to such cold climbs.
Even have a lemon sherpa?
Did Mr. Wool Stick have cotton balls?
If it was, they could've sold tickets.
Did Mr. Wool Stick have cotton balls?
********
LOL Good one.
