My Dalmatian Lizzy, now passed, had a beaver acquaintance.
She’d paddle all over the pond, and the beaver always stayed one step/stroke ahead, or pop up behind her.
It was a hoot to watch, ‘catch me if you can’

There was an updated posted beneath the video. Original posting last July— the update on ~5/1 said that Bella had been missing at that point for about 10 days. Hope she’s found and that they update again...

There’s quite a bit of info below the vid explaining that it wasn’t a pet beaver and that it was free to come and go. They aren’t sure what happened. From their FAQs”

No one knows. Possibly by the neighbor’s tractor during a field cutting.”
