US Headed For The Coldest Spring On Record

At the two-thirds mark for meteorological spring, 2013 was the second coldest spring on record – slightly warmer than 1975.

ScreenHunter_157 Apr. 26 06.02

Data is from here : Index of /pub/data/ghcn/daily/hcn/

But 1975 had an unusually warm May at 17C. The two warmest months of May were in 1934 and 1896.

Both graphs above show the average of all daily temperatures at all US HCN stations, calculated per year.

The forecast for the first two weeks of May is well below normal, so odds are that the spring of 2013 will be the coldest on record in the US.  This is what Fort Collins looked like at 7pm today (May 1.)

Crack government scientists with supercomputers, predicted in January that this spring was going to be super hot!

Just came in from shoveling global warming. Planting delayed by "cool, wet weather"--

--after the "end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it drought"--

Darn weather--just when you're doomed by heat, it snows.

Ahhhhh. This is EXACTLY what the climate models have predicted.

Media vermin will never endorse that Al Goron was/is wrong because to do so would be to admit that they, the enemy within—the media—have been wrong all along also. So we continue to have fools and jackels worhsipped by the democrips, because to stop worshipping their false idols is to admit they are wrong ... and with their defense of the serial murderer Gosnell, dead wrong.

I thought it was snowing in Minnesota. How do you get 81 in Michigan at the same time?

Here’s what enviro lefties never seem to understand...

The earth is 2/3 water, much of that deep water oceans. The sun is a million times the volume of the earth. The sun is an ongoing nuclear reaction with all manner of storms and fluctuations.

These two are the primary drivers of almost all weather and temperature changes, both short and long term.

Yet the lefties claim that Suzy Smith’s 4Runner is causing all the oddball weather. Nonsensical at best, mendacious at least.

Ya gotta love the models. No matter what happens it is EXACTLY what the models predicted.

I had a friend BLAME the cold on global warming. Of course he had no facts to back anything up with but just stated that was the cause. Idiot.

Right now where I live, it’s 88 degrees outside and raining hard. Making the tomato, pepper and melon plants very happy. And tomorrow it’s going to be hot, sunny and humid. Have fun shoveling that “global warming” off your driveway so you can get out of your house. Or as Bugs Bunny once said, “Ain’t I a stinker?”

It’s been cold for a long time here in metro Detroit this spring. One of the lingering coldest I can ever remember.

"This is what Fort Collins looked like at 7pm today (May 1.)"

Little below 0, F, at my place last night, with a whiteout (little east of the Divide at a much higher elev.). ...probably about 15 degrees (F), give or take a little, below normal.

I’m pretty sure all of the global warming models predicted that global warming would cause record cold.

Global warming is real. It’s just as unpredictable and changeable as the weather.

So you have bough into the whole man made global warming thing?

Look at the temperature trends where you live, from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm today. Did it get warmer? Global warming.

If that doesn't satisfy you, look at the temperature trends where you live, from January to August almost any year. More warming? Global warming again.

If even that doesn't convince you, look at the temperature trends worldwide from the end of the Little Ice Age, 1350-1850 to today. Scientists look at temperatures since our emergence from that period, find distinct warming, and reach the politically correct conclusion. Global warming everywhere we look!
