Inspite of what you may think not all women marry. There are women who need to work to support themselves. We do not live in a 7th century society the way the islamo nut jobs do. Nor do we live in a solely agrarian society that would allow women to merely be part of the homestead. Even in the 1800s in this country women worked outside of the home if they were single (even if they lived in their parents household).

“It was nice when that theory could be applied without fear of persecution. “ And when in history was that??? No where that I can see. From the earliest of days Christians have been persecuted ( and far worse than what we see in the US). The Middle East today persecutes Christians by slaughtering them. If we chose to isolate and avoid our responsibilities the outcome is by our own hands not that of the persecutors. “Good” Christians avoided so much in NAZI Germany that the likes of Hitler came to power. They could have stopped him had they only tried.

Hiding my head in the sand does not make a problem go away.

“ And when in history was that???

50 years ago, in this country and others, and at other times. Incidents of serious persecution of Christians were few and far between, and certainly not state policy (although Catholics, at various times, have encountered such).

There are women who need to work to support themselves.

There are, but most married women work because their family has become slaves to mammon, materialism, and the family across the street. Two incomes are not necessary to live, only to "keep up".

The Middle East today persecutes Christians by slaughtering them.

It does, and that happens in India as well, but persecution of Christians in the U.S. is occurring primarily at the hands of secularists and militant atheists, sanctioned by a government policy shaped by humanism and liberalism, not another religion (except for isolated major news events).

And I think you are off base blaming Christians for the rise of Hitler, although I realize you generally make good points on many threads.

I believe that the country is past the point of no return, and into the End Times scenario, and this calls for safe shelter of my own family and assets, not heroic trying to "make things right again".

BTW, sorry if you felt singled out or harangued this morning or last night or whenever it was; I quite literally had a reaction to a new medication and this has only settled out in the last couple of hours. Although looking back over my comments, I do sincerely mean the things I said, but perhaps they were too front and center and gave the impression of being targeted at you for some reason (although I was really ranting against contemporary society)..
