I saw Metallica twice at their peak. Two of the greatest shows I’ve ever witnessed.

I'm jealous. I was behind the curve when they were peaking. I only got the bug when the Black Album came out. I've loved the band ever since.

I guess I’m not a purist. I consider them still at their peak during the Black Album days. “Enter Sandman”, “The Unforgiven”, “Nothing Else Matters”, “Wherever I May Roam”, and “Sad but True”, are among my favorites.

Still I have to say the highlight of the best show I saw (in the Boston Garden [I don’t even know what they call it now; the name has changed a couple of times iirc]) was One. The whole place got pitch dark, & the sound of a helicopter filled the air. It was eerie & powerful. I’ll never forget it.
