Did you see it though Baynative? I’ve played enough competitive amateur and professional golf to know a bad drop when I see one. This one qualified.

I saw it. The only angle not shown was from behind the tee box which is where the people responsible for making the judgment were standing. In learning to be a rules official, one of the first things I was taught is to refer to the players before attempting to make any determination on rulings. We are never called in on the easy ones and often during discussion we learn that not everyone saw exactly what happened from exactly the same angle.

Tiger is probably the most watched (and sometimes the most disliked) player on tour and I think he is probably fully aware of the controversy taking leniency with his own judgement would cause. Most often, official rulings are made when players cannot agree and summon assistance.
