Jean Stothert made it look easy.
The Republican City Councilwoman made history tonight as the first woman ever elected Omaha mayor.
"Oh, what a ride this has been," Stothert told supporters Tuesday night.
She thanked Suttle and said he'd pledged his help during the transition.
"Campaigns are very competitive and ours was no exception," she said. "And yet I've always thought of him as an incredibly hard worker."
Stothert entered the race as the frontrunner and never ceded her woman-to-beat status. She held a commanding vote lead even in early returns released from the Douglas County Election Commissioner.

In the Photos Gallery section is a Freeper (Timothy Jacques...aka: Koloth holding a Stothert sign at the victory party).
Sounds like every democrat in the nation...
In Omaha, Suttle had a nickname amongst some as “five-buck-chuck”....that was the amount his anti-recall-election staff gave to the homeless for “election advocacy training” (in addition to a free lunch).
The guy was a complete putz, a Bloomberg wannabe, and an Agenda 21 henchman.
She’s a pretty lady......
And then there’s THIS!:

They fail to mention he signed on to Bloomies “Mayors against the 2nd Amendment” group. Commie puke to the bone.
I didn’t hear this at the time. Excellent news, rat Mayor loses big to GOP City Councilwoman. We have to fight hard for those cities that haven’t gone to hell yet.
??
A scumbag rat apologized for that?
That's standard operating procedure for the scumbag rats. Weird..
Maybe the campaign forgot to give the bums their cigarettes and wine. So in return the bums forgot to vote Democrat.
This was a really ugly campaign. Stothert did quite well in the usual Dem areas of Omaha. Suttle was very unpopular. She could be future Gubernatorial material (though NE has already had a GOP lady Guv, Kay Orr, who had an undistinguished term before losing to Ben Nelson in 1990).
