ROFL
It’s an old law, put into effect under the Dems. No drilling is allowed anywhere in the state. Who knows? If the Republicans can hold on to powere here, and we avoid any more costly recalls, perhaps the law can be changed. It’s just one of many crazy ideas that need to be addressed.
The screwy thing is is that a couple of years ago (under the Dems) they were pushing a string of wind turbines offshore down the Lake from the UP to Milwaukee. Frankly, I’d rather have a few “grasshopper” pumpers on shore — obscured by boulders, or bushes — than rows of huge wind turbines out in the Lake.
Thank God that better sense prevailed. No water based turbines yet.
The source of many Texas legends, real or imagined. RIP
Billie Sol was born in Abilene, TX and grew up in Clyde.
(I am 60 miles from Abilene)
He was a member of the Church of Christ, but swindled some of his own from what I have read about him. By and large the Church of Christ around here are straight arrows, he was not the normal member.
Anybody who was connected with Landslide Lyndon Johnson was most certainly a crook.
Billie Sol Estes, the king of Texas wheeler-dealers, dies

I join in prayer for his loved ones and family.
