That p7 map showing a salient around Kursk caught my attention. One side or the other will often try to do something about such bulge in the line. I wonder what will develop this summer?
The Germans also have a salient of their own, north of Kursk, around Orel. There is sure to be some action there, too. And there is also that southern balcony in the German lines along the Donetz and Mius from Kharkov to Taganrog.
The Rasputitsa is over and the ground has dried. At this time last year the two armies were pounding each other at Kharkov. Nothing this year; “all quiet on the eastern front.” Given the meandering shape of the front, there are a lot of opportunities for both sides to make a move, but they are just sitting. I wonder what they are waiting for...
