Rocker Ted Nugent has continued to make his views on firearms and the Second Amendment known. On Friday, his brother, former president and chief executive of Revlon, Jeffrey Nugent, also came forward to share his opinions on gun rights in a recent Washington Post op-ed. The problem? The two adamantly disagree at least when it comes to universal background checks.

I guess Ted hasn't been able to make his brother understand that NO LAW will prevent some asshat from getting a weapon. It ain't that hard to understand. You can do all the background checks you want (except for king hussein appointees who are apparently exempt) and the baddies will still get what they "need" whenever they want. Wake up Jeff. Of course he was the head cheese at revlon so maybe hanging with all those libs has caused brain damage.

Seems Jeffrey knows a whole lot about makeup.

Obama is a big user of Revlon products.

I didn’t even know he had a brother and I only lived a few miles from him for years in Michigan.

all this talk about the pros and cons of background checks is irrelevant.
they are patently unconstitutional, (at least when the very first applicant is denied).
I may think background checks can be a pretty good idea but our Founders decided otherwise, that our right to bear arms “shall not be infringed.”
This is still the U.S. of America, isn’t it?
To: FlingWingFlyer
Somebody needs to ask Jeffy what prevents me from going to the hood and picking up a throw away with no background check at all.
Background checks are a completely pointless waste of time and money. Not to mention, unconstitutional.

He’s a corporate establishment guy not wanting to hurt sales, or get audited by the Government. People like him are a dime a dozen.
Why is this news, except for the fact they share the last name “Nugent?”

Barely clinging to that desire. And yes, there should be NO discussion on the 2nd. Sadly too many asshats consider it open to debate. Probably why I have a problem with “having” to obtain a CCW. WHY? Rhetorical of course. I like the VT and AZ concept myself. If you haven’t done something to prohibit you from carrying, carry away.

Obama's brother is well-known as a pot source (and a large-scale bagman, evidently) yet I don't see the WaPo offering HIM a column on relaxing drug laws.

Ted Nugent’s brother has it wrong.

They could have had their background checks but they insisted in leaving a door open to creating a national registry.
You can pass laws banning a registry until Hell freezes over but an administration like Obama's will joyfully ignore them!
This is all about trust, no government deserves much of it!

Typical punditry - if a family member disagrees, then the conservative is always wrong and the “tool” is always right. My brother collects SSI for neck and shoulder problems and is happy to make sure he doesn’t work too many part time hours and cut into his “benefits”. Always bitching about being poor and is still perfectly capable of working a full load if it’s not too strenuous. He and I are miles apart in out belief systems.

A background check is an infringement upon our second amendment rights, and thus unconstitutional.
