Whiskey in the jar? This is a happy song?

*********************
I went up to my chamber, all for to take a slumber
I dreamt of gold and jewels and for sure ‘t was no wonder
But Jenny blew me charges and she filled them up with water
Then sent for captain Farrell to be ready for the slaughter

That song has always been a favorite of mine.

All the airhead boffins
No matter how well degreed
Who worship global warning
Are smoking too much weed

The coldest spring in ages
Is barely over and done-
And smoke from South America
Makes a haze to block the sun-

With people in those countries
Slashing and burning trees
How will our efforts here lower
The temperature a few degrees?

And that is not the meaning I attach to that word, either-it is a polite euphemism for something else, as in Clinton was boffin every woman in sight...

Another one of my favorites. I’ve only heard James Taylor record it but that one, Going to Carolina in My Mind, and Fire and Rain almost make me forget what a lunatic he is.

James Taylor is actually a certified loon-but I do like “Fire and Rain”

I can’t hear “Cats in the Cradle” without thinking of a parody of it that was out in the late 90’s-somehing like “have you ever wondered when you eat Chinese if its really chicken or a fat Siamese? Cats in the kettle at the Shanghai moon, etc.” It was hilarious...

I figure the Bengals and Browns have a lot to do with this.
