the sole Obama sign in our neighborhood this past fall was in the yard of a GWU prof. not sure what she teaches. She is known in our house as the "mom of the black poodles", she's nice, i have talked dogs with her many times. I recall her withdrawing a bit after seeing the McCain sign in our yard the first time, but we never talk anything but dogs so it's fine. They are jewish, her husband is a retired lawyer. She has ridiculous proObama bumper stickers on her car and the reason i know she is a prof at GW is bc her license plate is GWPROF

I had a Bud Light Straw-berita last week. It was not as sweet as I thought it would be. Not bad, not great. I’ve had bottled (malt) traditional lime margaritas that are better.

Very pretty car, sporty and sleek.
I haven't seen the new AD because we don't have Netflix. I'm not sure I even want to try 2 free weeks of Hulu Plus to get caught up on Nashville.
We saw some great basketball last night. How 'bout those Spurs? Whoop!

Hobbes would say that women shouldn’t be driving in the left lane anyway, so there’s no need to look over your right shoulder. ;-)

How many beverages will the glove box hold?

BTW, it’s been raining all morning. First I had 5 deer cavorting in the rain in the backyard. Then rabbits were romping. Now, the rain has stopped, and my backyard is full of wild turkeys. The dog used to keep all these critters well away from the house. No more.

It’s so cold that even my barn swallows have abandoned this place. My daughter in VA is mad at me because she posted a picture of a beautiful bouquet of peonies on Facebook that she’d cut from her own garden. I commented that I found the peonies (and the fact that she had them) “disgusting”. She did not take kindly to that remark, but she doesn’t know how depressing this wet and cold spring has been.

It looks like this will be another lost year for the gardens because of the weather and my surgery.

Asplundh (the firm that clears power lines for the electric company around here) came down my driveway and removed 50 years of brush along the old stone wall while I was in the hospital. They left without completing the job and left a real mess. They say they’ll be back, but when? And what will they actually do? It looks like I’ll have to hire a landscape contractor to clean up this mess before it all grows back. Their efforts have already added between 6 and 20 feet of land to my yard. All of it needs professional attention before I can maintain it.

But my daughter in VA has peonies to pick. Bah, humbug!

Stop fooling yourself. Anybody advertising Obaama on their car, or in their yard, is NOT nice. They are the enemy, and they are causing all of us to suffer through this 2nd term.

Talk dogs, if you like, and pump her brain with a smile on your face, as if you were an undercover agent. But, don’t delude yourself by calling her “nice”.

You may have asked for the one data point not on the spec sheet.

I saw a box turtle, duck, and heron at the park this morning. If I was earlier, I would have seen the deer. It’s fawning time here.

LOLOLOL! I was only asking because other than the black interior) that is my only complaint against my Cadillac — no convenient carrying space. My glove compartment will hold the owner’s manual, insurance paper and title, and 2 Sunday edition (thin) prayer books. That’s it. The center console barely holds anything. The door pockets are a joke, and the back of the seat pockets barely hold a map. Lot’s of great electronics, but not much “reachable” storage space.

OTOH, my other Cadillac, 5 years older and same model, has better interior storage space. It even has umbrella pockets under the front seats, except adjusting the seats can crusch the brollies.

I expect to drive both of these cars for a long time, but I will inspect my next car very carefully before purchase.

Why would I root for anyone in the East(except for Vokie to have a good game but not necessarily for his team to win)? I want the Blackhawks to win it all.

Solidarity with a fellow Wordie? The desire to see your former goalie win it all?

They’ve already won it all. And you have some guys on your team who I cannot stand(Malkin & Cooke come to mind right away). I’d rather see a team that had not won it yet but that’s not a choice this year. The Cup should have an asterisk anyway for the abbreviated season.

I’ve not seen any fawns yet, but I know they are around — or soon to be dropped. I’m mostly seeing yearlings prancing around.

Later on, I spotted deer chasing turkeys. Preppers would have a field day here, with all this food ambling through my back yard.

That was fascinating, I agree. I’m on the verge of getting my hair cut again. It grows fast and is already too long. I’m trying to convince my daughter to have her hair layered because it is SO thick and heavy, yet fine in texture.

How very sad that you are so miserable that you would call your own daughter’s flowers, which she must have been proud of, disgusting. Perhaps your doctor needs to be aware that you are feeling this way so he/ she can address it
