Maybe that's the Doctor's secret. They're acknowleging the American-made TV movie! 8-P

I didn't notice how he was dressed, but that's an interesting point.

It's generally known that the Fox-TV film is the bastard child of the Doctor Who series. Personally, I liked the film and Paul McGann. So, it would be nice for it to be reunited with the 'family'.

I was partially joking about the Fox movie. McGann is included in the incarnations of the Doctor, whenever they’re shown. Likewise, though I haven’t heard them, he’s recorded more audio adventures of Doctor Who then anybody else. (From what I understand, he’s still doing them, which technically makes him the longest-running Doctor.)

I didn't see him in the most recent episode. (The Name of the Doctor) All the other Doctors were shown running to and fro, but he was omitted. I could be wrong, so I'll look again when I watch the episode for John Hurt's costume.

All the previous (living) Doctors are still doing audio books (called, 'Ranges' by BFP) for Big Finish Productions, including Tom Baker. Since Baker is the earliest Doctor still alive, technically speaking, he still holds reign as the longest-running Doctor. (See: Big Finish Productions - Doctor Who)

Except this case it is because the writer, Steve Moffat, had other things to do.

I left out the sex scandal. That alone is reason to cancel the thing.

That’s always been regarded as Canon.

I didn’t notice him either, but they didn’t have much to work with. OTOH, if you remember the Next Doctor, Jackson Lake had a memory stick (whatever they were called) with information about the Doctor, and Paul McGann was included. Ditto for the quick clips in Matt Smith’s first show.

You’ve got to be joking. That was like 25 years ago. Both JNT and Downie are dead and no one from back then has anything to do with the show now.

I thought John Hurt was going to be the next Doctor?
