One very furry high school graduate was honored this week with a yearbook photo of his own.

Prince “the therapy dog,” bred by Lutheran Church Charities is a 9-year-old golden retriever who works in the guidance office at Portage High School in Indiana. He's retiring and as a parting gift, he had a professional photo taken and published alongside the class of 2013.

Some of the girls on that page are real dogs.

High Schools need “Therapy Dogs” now!

We are becoming a nation of wimps.

And I don’t mean Weakly Interactive Massive Particles.

I can just see some of the “signatures” on the girl’s Yearbooks that share that page.

“Hey - did you pay them to put him on there so you wouldn’t be the only dog on the page?”

“Oh man - I thought that was YOU in the middle! JK - BF4Ever!”

If I'd only had a "therapy dog" in High School, I wouldn't have all these therapy bills now!

I could not agree more. I am not PC, but would these Cretins be willing to say these things if the students were standing face to face with them?

Many of the lewd and crude comments I see anymore simply are juvenile and have no place on Free Republic.
They are not funny!

Go ahead and flame me if you want to, but you know I am right.

BTW this does not refer to comments about Obummer.

Hey! Michele Obama did away with all of their comfort food at the cafeteria so it has been replaced with a comfort dog.

Who knows? The next thing to come might be a “COMFORT STATION!”

I can see the yearbook scrawls from his classmates: “Stay Lassie, dawg.”

Or: “Don’t ever get mange.”

No doubt there’s the old saw about dropping a dead rat on the new teacher’s desk every morning to curry favor as the new teacher’s pet.

He’d have been called a mascot two generations ago. Despite the lefty psychobabble associated with him, I’m glad to see they held him in high regard. He may have been the only unconditional love some of those kids ever experienced.

Happy retirement, Prince. May you have many days of leisure filled with love returned in kind.

I agree...it's a nice touch..

What concerns me is the door is now open to "make" by legal action high school yearbooks deal with all sorts of issues like putting Mr. Fido, Mr. Kitty Cat, Mr. Gerbil, Mr. Lizard, Mr. Parrot...in the yearbook...

After all they are part of the family and with said animal I would have dropped out of school...my dog helped me make straight A's and deserve to be pictured with me...blah, blah...

I love my dog and probably take a bullet for her, but she is after all...a dog...
