Having been to San Antonio many times, that’s what I figured. I’ve seen a number of latino musical performances along the Riverwalk. Those performers that chose “heritage” clothing wore subtle (but elegant) Charro suits, rather than more heavily-embroidered ones that scream “Mariachi”. But, different strokes.

Fabulous. and when the very good Mariachi Bands play at Mass or in an appropriate setting, it is wonderful.

It’s like Irish Dancing.

If the Irish illegals were taking over the Bronx in the same way, then representatives from Irish dancing would not be well received at Yankee Stadium. and anyone trying to mess with PR in that questionable city would be excoriated by the locals, maybe not the NYT, but they would be called out.
