I'm a lawyer. I did a divorce case a while back. We were in full evidentiary hearing to divide property, child custody, spousal support, etc. It was really nasty. We broke for lunch. Ninety minutes later, the judge took the bench, the lawyers were at counsel table, court report and court clerk were ready to rock, and neither party was to be found. The bailiff walked in and reported that he just saw them "totally making out" in the parking lot.
We're a magnificent species. We really are.
