Lil Wayne is lying through his diamond-encrusted teeth ... claiming he didn't INTENTIONALLY step on the American flag during a video shoot ... despite the fact he can be seen looking down on Old Glory several times during the performance.
Wayne just tweeted about his controversial video shoot for "God Bless Amerika" in New Orleans ... saying, "I didn't step on the flag on purpose! It's a scene in a video where the flag drops behind me and after it drop it's just there as I perform."
Translation -- I swear it was an accident ... please don't hate me.

Maybe the real problem is that Lilly Wayne doesn’t know what the U.S. Flag looks like. Apparently, neither do any of the crowd around him. Nor the crew who released it from top of the ladder. Nor the guy taking the video.
Look at the composition of the crowd. You expected more from them?
Well... it didn't just happen to lay down so smoothly and flat like a carpet pathway. The 'crew' practiced it several times before they found a way to get it to land ...jes rite. Lil Wayne's producer had to do several takes. The crowd is watching , and gathered round just like any public place where someone sets up to FILM a MUSIC VIDEO. This video footage is not one of the many takes from Wayne's crew, but from someone's phonecam, so you are seeing ONE out of several times that he walked on the flag.
