'Sucker Punch' (2011)
Zack Snyder's 2011 flop is like the video-game fantasy of an oversexed teenage boy come to life, with Emily Browning's Babydoll and her fellow brothel-dwellers (most of them endowed with stripper names like "Sweet Pea," "Blondie" and "Rocket") running through a variety of overstuffed action-movie scenarios in a procession of skimpy outfits that wouldn't look out of place at the Playboy mansion's annual Halloween party. Much like the director's "300," Larry Fong's screen-searing cinematography and some artfully-realized digital effects are breathtaking in scope, but sadly even they can't prop up a limply-realized screenplay and woefully underdeveloped characters that feel all the more bland in relation to the eye-popping visual landscape on display.

I personally really liked Tron Legacy and Terminator Salvation.
Man of Steel was really good and visually stunning. I wonder if it would have ended up on this list?
I liked Prometheus. It had a few surprises I did not see coming. Ridley Scott delivered.
Computer-generated graphics has supplanted story-telling. It saves me a lot of money, since there is very little worth seeing.
In my opinion that scene in SP where the girls in the B-25 are being chased by a dragon is one of the coolest scenes in all of movie history.
My brother raved about Man of Steel, but I think I've seen enough superhero comic book adaptations.
Aside from Ang Lee's Hulk and the first two Batman films-by Tim Burton-there aren't any that I can recall being must-watch viewing.
I enjoyed “Tron: Legacy” though it certainly wasn’t a great film. The soundtrack really helped it.
“Prometheus” was incredibly disappointing.
“Sucker Punch” looked fantastic but was just a disjointed mess with a terrible, terrible script. I bet it was fun to write and direct, but it certainly wasn’t any fun to watch.
“Terminator: Salvation” was pretty “meh.” I’d put it a little lower than “Tron: Legacy” personally, though it did look good.
Jerks. I worked on Sucker Punch in post production and the story deviated from what people are used to seeing on screen. We always said that SP was a chick flick, and only wives or GF’S or daughters bought their male counterparts to watch it.
I also liked Tron Legacy.
It was a good movie and an instant imprint on popular culture.
the author must be some sort of sundance effete.
I liked the soundtrack for sucker punch. In Tron Legacy, they took someone as beautiful as Olivia Wilde and muted her down. They did the same thing to her in Cowboys and Aliens.
13 needs to shine.
“Man of Steel” is definitely worth seeing....I am not a movie person and thought they did a superb job in remaking the film....
You will not be disappointed..
I hated Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter was the personification of everything I hate about that freak Johnny Depp.
I thought Prometheus COULD HAVE been a good movie. It failed. I believe Ridley is getting long in the tooth. Alien was an incredibly tense little movie that needed only a minimum of special effects, a gem! His blade runner was great (though i will alienate a few of you by saying i did not like the directors cut...but i generally do not like directors cuts).
Prometheus was me looking at my friends afterward and saying WTF? Weak and predictable plot line with gratuitous effects with little or no purpose.
Both the old Tron and new Tron have been running on TV lately.
I feel very old.
Alice in wonderland would have been great but for all scenese with the white witch and the feminst ending BS.
it was just a “look we hired johnny depp” vehicle where he plays a stoned manic drunk.
I was disappointed.
It was LOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooong and disjointed.
The writing might have succeeded if they had not been lost in a world of krypton rewrite.
In the end it it just an ancient greek mythology ripoff of heracles.
I would say wait for cable/netflix or whatever costs least.
you could check you emails and look for any interesting FR postings DURING the movie and not mis a single relavent point.
That movie surprised you? I thought it was incredibly horribly predictable, and pretty much said what was going to happen before it did.
Yup! Never saw any of these......looks like once again being out of the mainstream saves wasting your life watching garbage designed for the low info masses.
I loved sucker punch. So did my wife. A trip no doubt.
I like the idea of Superman actually killing one of the villains for a change.
Man, you’re spot on
