This Video Of A Giant Snake Opening A Door May Traumatize You For Life

Hide your kids, hide your wife. While you’re at it, hide yourself too.

“Bored of being in a dark room, she flips on the light, opens the door and bails. This particular episode takes place at 1am. This is why we keep doors locked with her around. We don’t need her harassing the neighbors.”

Can the snake hear the “good Job” and understand it??? It’s as if they have trained the snake to do it.

Well, only if you're afraid of snakes.

The case has been made for round door knobs.

“Bored of being in a dark room, she flips on the light, opens the door and bails. This particular episode takes place at 1am.

.....and at 1 AM, the snake's owner just happened to be right outside the door, capturing it all on video. There was nothing impressive about this.

Haven’t you ever felt the urge to videotape some closed doors at 1am?

Conan with a Burmese python that is actually constricting his arm..yeah, I wouldn’t want one of these roaming around the house unlocking the door to my bedroom

My old roommate’s 6’ Burmese Python could do the same and did so many times. They are smart enough to know the door is the way out of a room and they climb it inadvertently turning the knob.

so they do it with round knobs too?

So you would say that this is not intentionally going for a handle but just sliding around on the door and it accidentally turns the knob?

Yes, they do it with knobs just as easily as with levers. The snake can sense the air coming from under and around the door and knows it’s best way of escaping the room is to get to the other side. Not finding a way under, they climb. My roommate’s snake would slither up the jamb, wrapping itself around the knob and in doing so it would turn releasing the door just as you see in this video. It was also very adept at escaping its cage so we never knew where it was in the house. My GF would never again enter the house once she learned of this. :-)
