Please tell me about Scott Walker (vanity)

Living here in the People's Republic of Kommiefornia, I don't know a lot about Governor Walker, other than his hugely successful effort that prevented his recall as WI governor.

But I know that he is a conservative, not a RINO, and he appears to be someone who has actually done positive things for the conservative movement and for the state of Wisconsin. He seems like a guy who, if elected to the Presidency, could accomplish many good things.

Is he a potential candidate in 2016?

FReeper from California wants to know more about Scott Walker! I’ll let you all chime in.

Scott Walker is the real deal. As a resident of Wisconsin, I don’t want him to be a candidate for President in 2016. We still need him in Wisconsin. There’s more work to be done.

He's was previously elected and re-elected as a Republican County Executive in Milwaukee of all places.

The man is a Boy Scout (can I still say that and have it be a positive?).He says what he means and he means what he says.

The worst anyone could say about him (and they do) is that he doesn't have a college degree.

2016 is probably pushing it, but he'd be an excellent President. However, I don't believe America will elect an excellent President ever again.

Any mention of my scouting past from this disgraceful period forward will be with the qualifier: Vintage Scout or Genuine Scout.

Of all the many viable targets for justifiable hatred lately, the faggot nazis being allowed to ruin a once-laudable organization via the cowardice of those entrusted with its stewardship is right up there on the list.

Walker is bold, unafraid of the unions and their control, and fiscally responsible. He eliminated a $3.5 billion state debt and created a $150 million surplus.

For someone who’s not a RINO, he’s managed to generate a lot of positive press from GOPe mouthpieces.

Considering many of us have been burned by frauds like Marco Rubio, Rick Scott, Rand Paul, and some others (Paul Ryan)...I am leery of Walker

His success brought Reniece Priebus as GOP head....who is another Amnesty Liberal RINO. Also.....Walker has not cut the admin and executive state level jobs....which drain budgets and retirement liabilities more than the janitor at the state capitol.

Walker is the son of a minister and grew up in a small town America. He lacks a college degree, but has an abundance of common sense and real intellect. Scott Walker studies a problem until he understand it, which allows him to craft practical solutions. He is articulate and speaks very well while answering questions off the cuff. He does not need a teleprompter to speak.

Scott Walker is the real deal. He knows how to frame an issue and reach an audience. He has an amazing command of facts and knows how to provide perspective. If he runs for President I expect the MSM to attack him without mercy. He will deflect the attacks.

I like Scott Walker. A lot. I like him right where he is. He is great for WI right now and I believe he is an honest man. I do not think he is what we need to lead a conservative movement in Washington at this time.

Since whisperings about a possible presidential run Walker has become wishy washy on the immigration. My personal opinion is that Walker is first a Republican and second a Conservative. There were many people all gung-ho over a place in the WH for Paul Ryan. There are several big issues, immigration being one of them, that are vital in the fight to restore the Republic. I believe that Immigration is one of them. I’m not sure that Walker has the right mind-set on that issue.

I believe that the governors will play an important role in fighting against this federal tyranny. WI has FINALLY elected a conservative governor and legislature. Just barely. We have lots of court cases to get through over the next 3 or 4 years. The struggle is still ongoing here. We lose the state and it goes back to liberal Madison control we cannot count on WI to be on the conservative side of the bigger battle.

Walker is strong on the 2nd amendment and pro-life. But he is no Sarah Palin. I don’t think he could “bring it” like Palin could. I am more confident that he can deliver WI than I am that he can win the WH.

Just my humble cheese-headed opinion for what it is worth.

The worst anyone could say about him (and they do) is that he doesn't have a college degree.

Yes, but WHY doesn't he have a college degree? He was within a few credits of graduating from Marquette when he withdrew and took a job with the American Red Cross. He has said that he couldn't turn down the job offer because the money was good.

He married his sweetheart in 1993, a widow who is a few years older than he. They have 2 boys (she had no children with her first husband) and they are a wonderful family. He went from The Red Cross to the State Legislature and then he ran for County Executive where he served 2 1/2 terms.

After cleaning up Milwaukee, he ran for Governor where he's done a fabulous job. He's rolled back taxes. He's given us Concealed Carry. He's given us Voter ID, although it's still tied up in court. He's given us Act 10 which saves us a ton of money in schools a municipalities.

Ten Things You Did Not Know About Scott Walker

1. Scott Walker was born on Nov. 2, 1967, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Llewellyn, a pastor, and Patricia Walker, a department store bookkeeper who also wrote a column for the local newspaper. His family moved to Delavan, Wis., when Walker was 10.

2. Walker is an Eagle Scout and in 1985 was selected as one of two to represent Wisconsin at the American Legion Boys Nation in Washington, D.C. He credits the trip for sparking his interest in public service.

3. In 1986, Walker began college at Marquette University in Milwaukee, where he ran unsuccessfully for class president.

4. Walker left Marquette during his senior year to take a marketing and development job with the American Red Cross. He never earned a degree.

5. Walker married his wife, Tonette, in 1993. They have two teenage sons.

6. Walker was elected to the Wisconsin state Assembly in 1993 and served nine years.

7. In 2002, Walker was elected Milwaukee County executive after a pension scandal forced the sitting executive to step down.

8. Walker first ran for Wisconsin governor in 2006, but dropped out of the race after a year of campaigning because he couldn't raise enough money.

9. Walker was elected governor of Wisconsin in November 2010. With Tea Party support and a pledge to bring 250,000 jobs to the state, he defeated Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, a Democrat, 52 to 46 percent.

10. In November, Governor-elect Walker signaled that he would turn down almost $810 million in federal dollars for a rail development project in Wisconsin, arguing its operation costs would be too high.

Walker ran and won 2 terms as Milwaukee County Executive in a heavily democratic county with typical democratic government corruption like large oversize pension benefits. He proposed no tax increase budgets and was overriden by democratic supervisors (even after his veto). He left Milwaukee county in better shape.

Walker won election as Governor in 2010 and a recall election in 2012 and will run again for Governor in 2014. He eliminated collective bargaining for all items expect pay for public employees. He allowed school districts to save money by eliminating the public employees collective bargaining/ arbitration rules that side with the public employee unions.

The unions came after him with everything they had and lost big and the unions lost 1/3 to 1/2 of their members. They are still fighting Walker with liberal judges, but they have lost every case sofar and the voter id is now in the Supreme Court.

Wisconsin now has a Republican Senate and Assembly and a conservative Supreme Court. We can thank the Democrats for running away to Illinois. We still have a few RINOS that sometimes side with the rats.

We are moving FORWARD under Walker’s leadership, but still have a way to go to overcome the uninformed voters. Thanks to True the Vote, we have a list of the liberal voters that signed the recall petitions. Support True the Vote in their lawsuit against the IRS.

Walker was well received by IOWA voters and has raised a lot of money, but still under the radar.

WE STAND BEHIND WALKER. He is a gentleman and a true conservative and tries to do the right thing for the taxpayers.

He lacks a college degree

It appears that this is a positive. Look at the mess we have with the most brilliant people on earth running things and doing it for decades. Scott is a leader who knows what he wants and how to get there. He surrounds himself with good people who love their state and their country. That’s all that counts.

Personally, I think he is a RINO. He seemed genuinely surprised at the union protests that sprang up. And he has made some appeasing moves toward the liberals in the state. Property taxes will go up by about $29 in the next budget, after having taxes fall, and the state will incure a $500MM deficit, after we balanced the budget this first time around. Also, we have a surplus but they are keeping some of it in a "rainy day" fund. No, all of that money should be returned to the tax payers. Also, he wanted to ease some rule and give China and other foreign countries an easier path to buying land in Wisconsin.

Last week he rescinded the appointment of a college kid to the UW board of regents advisory(?) board because the kid signed the recall petition. The kid is no threat to anyone and if you can't explain your views or accept a little criticism, then you have no heart and you have no personal convictions with which to govern.

Yes, he's done a lot of great things but he still thinks he can be friends with democrats. He's squishy, like his friend, Reince Preibus, the RNC Chair. I just don't find Gov. Walker to be a strong leader and he will be eaten alive in the Primaries. He reminds me of Pawlenty and every other cringe-worthy republican man who is great on 70 percent of things but then says those few capitulating statements that make us all groan.

I think Reagan was the last President who didn’t have some degree from an Ivy League school.

So no degree doesn’t bother me at all.

Other than Senator Ted Cruz, Walker is the only other relatively consistent conservative in a high office. His optimism is unabated like Ronald Reagan’s. When you meet him personally, it’s like talking to someone you’ve known your whole life. Totally at ease, no matter where he is.

Scott Walker is great. I came to Wisconsin from SoCal in 2010, shortly after he was elected, due to my job situation.

The man has poise, nerves of steel, and is a good Conservative...which is why the DemocRATs hate him.
