Some pedophiles don't even get this much time. And how much will it cost the state for 3 years?

Something is odd with this bird. I would suspect that he either he has a serious medical condition he cannot afford to treat, or some other personal problem where being in jail would actually be better than being outside.
He is also possibly smart enough to realize that he had better not tell the judge this.
Alternatively, he could have a mental problem.

Free to him. Th taxpayers will be picking up the bill.

Just doing the work Americans won't do. Like Obama said yesterday, he is a "United States person."

While not strictly relevant to the subject of the post my ancestors on my father’s mother’s side settled in Mattoon, Illinois circa 1818. They came in from Indiana. My great grandmother was born in Mattoon in 1872 and died in California in 1948.

It is actually pretty easy to sneak out of a restaurant without paying your bill if you dine alone. Just don't make a scene and slip discreetly away. Best method is to actually go to the restroom after ordering your dessert and when you come out, head straight for the door and exit. Chances are slim anybody will realize you aren't coming back until you are long gone. So long as you don't go back there anytime soon, you are likely home free.
When I worked in restaurants, this happened from time to time and I don't think anybody ever got caught. I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often.

How long was he in the System prior to the offenses? Really sounds like he wants to go back.
I know folks that do really want to go back... very sad

Better yet, go into a busy restaurant... 5 minutes before your friend walks in....Sit at the counter...Friend grabs seat next to you at the counter. Pretend ya don't know each other....You eat the works...the biggest dinner they got....Friend buys coffee and pie...You pick up his puny bill go to the register and pay...Your out....Friend waits a few minutes and goes to pay with your bill...At the register he tells them there is a mistake, he only had pie and coffee...Waitress backs him up and he's out...
Go to the next restaurant and switch, so the your friend can chow down....
Only takes a couple bucks to chow down....

Three years for two instances of defrauding an Innkeeper? Seems a little excessive, I wonder if the judge had any kind of interest the establishments?

Even if I owned a restaurant, I would not want someone who walked out on a meal there to go to jail for 3 years. It wouldn’t do mean any good. It’s be one thing if he had to work of the bill.
To: SamAdams76
BTW, I would never do that! I was just thinking about how easy it would be...lol...

Well, at least he’ll eat three squares for 3 years. He either haw a mental problem or he is dirt poor, and decided
“the h*ll with it, I’m going to go have one last good meal, one way or the other.” The fact that he stuck around to get arrested makes me think he wanted to go to the clink.
