She’s being pilloried for words that were commonly spoken at the time, that being 40 years ago, in the 60’s. This is a lets bring down a popular idol (amongst foodies), because its fun to bring down someone who has worked their *ss off for years and has reached the pinnacle of their success. Time to destroy that nasty capitalist that has made it through hard work.
The Food Network can go take a jump in the lake IMO, and I will personally not watch them in the future. They are perfectly within their rights to remove Paula Deen from their program network, and I am perfectly within my rights to not watch them as my own personal statement. Hope others will do the same, and/or write, e-mail, or phone them to voice displeasure.
I have to agree & I think the Food Channel is going to get a lot of angry mail for firing her.
She admitted to use of the ‘n’ word 50 yrs ago, yet the reports make it sound like she does it currently on a regular basis. I believe she said that she used it when she described to her husband who had held up the bank she worked in.
As far as I’ve heard, she isn’t guilty of telling jokes with racial or ethnic slurs, but guilty of not telling others NOT to.
The MSM smells blood in the water and they’ve been on the attack.
Let’s see if some of her non-white celebrity friends come out to defend her.

Tiny excerpt:
Deen even recently told the Washington Examiner, [Michelle Obama] probably ate more than any other guest I ever had on the show! She kept eating even during commercials. Know what [the Obamas] favorite foods are? Hot wings."
