The hilarious thing about describing dog sleeping to those who are not fans of our "feathered friends" i the look of uncomprehending horror it sometimes evokes. After all, how could anyone actually enjoy such a disgusting and degraded practice, especially when dogs are well known to be "filthy animals with disgusting personal habits."

Worst of all, children are sometimes allowed to engage in it. A couple of months ago I attended a conference at a hotel where dogs were allowed. One of the dogs was a totally charming 140 lb. 2 year old female Great Dane. One of the somewhat awestruck guests who observed the animal asked her human parents, "Where do you keep her?' Their charming 16 year old daughter replied, "She sleeps with me in a twin bed."
