Too bad most Canadian beer tastes like ass.

They have more skunk water apparently.

And for the record, they don't have stronger beer. Those hosers need to make it down to Oregon, eh? As just one example, Ninkasi Brewery of Eugene bottles its Tricerahops Double India Pale Ale which is 8.8% ABV, can be found at most Willamette Valley grocers, and it actually tastes great.

We have plenty of very potent beer and ale available right here in Cali. I never reach for any of the Canadian products though.

I also hate the taste of Belgium beers.

And, my FRiend, you have a magnificent national anthem. “O Canada” just rocks..you can actually sing it..unlike “The Star Spangled Banner”..we should make “God Bless America” our anthem...it’s a far better song, and it would so piss off the ACLU..

Molson Gold ping.

Them was the days.

I think.

I can’t recollect most of ‘em but I’ve been told I had lots of fun.

Molson Gold ping.

The Red is better!

Except for Grolsch and Murphys, I’ve pretty much abandoned store bought. Gotta get busy, though, because I just got my new brew kit.

Very funny and quite true in regard to the typical lager swill sold in most grocery stores. But American microbrews have come a long way and I'd stack up the best of them against any beer in the world.

Soeaking of Canadian beer, does Molson's still make Brador? That was one fine beer...

I was more the Guinness/Bass/Watney’s Bleedin’ Red Barrel kind of guy. (And Mishawaka Brewing Company Winter Seasonal - 8.4%)

Oh yeah - and I was drinking Dos Equis back when the so-called “Interesting Man” was just a minor curiosity.

Nope. The Canadian propensity for beer that will knock a mastodon out of its socks is only one of the many evils that has percolated down over the border in their relentless drive to rule the world. Don't start me on Tim Horton's.

I sort of remember...I was sitting in the Prince of Wales Hotel in Waterton, Alberta one time after a long day's hiking and my Canuck buds started buying me this beer with a canoe flying to Hell on the label, named La Maudite. Now, I was really, really thirsty, see, after dodging the moose and Grizzled B'ar and the Edmonton Oilers fans, and so the first one went down kinda fast. By the third one they informed me it was 8% alcohol by volume. And they're big bottles.

Nowadays with the microbrewing thing raging it isn't that hard to find beautiful U.S. beers that strong or stronger. My weekend was spent with Lagunitas Brewery's Hop Stoopid (8%) and Laughing Dog Brewery's Alpha Dog (8.5%), two very fine IPAs that will also produce sockless mastodons. Come to think of it, I haven't seen any mastodons wearing socks around here for a very long time. It's Canada's fault.

You’d probably like Okanagan Springs Porter - creamy goodness @ 8.5%!

Hey, I think I’ll go crack one for an early lunch!
