Let me be the first to say it. Whether or not this bill passes, if Marco Rubio is the best of a bad bunch come Fed 2016, most FReepers and Republicans will vote for him to be nominee. Rubio is going to hammer Obozo relentlessly for 18 months, and many, MANY will simply forget. Tens of millions from GOP Super PACs will help them.

West couldn’t hold his House seat, so how do you expect him to get elected to a Senate seat — unseating an incumbent of the same party?

Members of Congress cannot be recalled, the US Constitution does not provide for that.

That would be a nightmare anyway, would you like the left to be trying to recall all of our best people all the time? Let’s stick with elections.

House and Senate races are entirely different animals. Congressional Districts are drawn specifically to favor one party or the other. A mere handful across the US are ‘swing districts.’

The same partisan leeway doesn’t obtain with Senate seats. There, candidates have to appeal to voters across the entire state, not only to one relatively small District.

West’s winning statewide would be determined by the mood of the state and the nation at the time of the election. Fl isn’t yet set as ‘blue’ or ‘red,’ like NY or TX. If conservatism is on the ascendancy he’ll do fine. Otherwise, nope.

There were several Senate seats that went D last Fall because it was Obama’s time, Democrats’ time. Rs have caved ever since.

The same entire state that went to Obama by almost 4 percentage points?

Yes, the same state that elected Rick Scott and a R legislature.

If you’d read my entire post, you’d see that I acknowledge that FL is not yet fully “red” nor fully “blue” and that any success West might have would be dependent on the mood of the state and the country at the time of the election. 2008 and 2012 were Obama/Democrat years. One election cycle tells us nothing, as I tried to tell folks here in 2010.

Were you living under a bridge during West’s campaign? Voter fraud did him in - with a lot of help from the RINOs. had he continued to pursue the matter, more than likely, he would have won, but he at least shined a light on the fraud that happened in his district.

America wouldn’t know what to do with real leaders — it would leave them all confused and leaderless.

Is that Idi? Allen West voting for the NDAA is a kill shot, on the United States of America. Perhaps, you missed the set up.

TomGuy,
Colonel West couldn’t hold his congressional seat because he is a Tea Party member and the Republican party of Florida through redistricting got rid of him.
They’d prefer a horse shit dem in his place so as to not have him shake the gravey train.
Then he moved to MY congressional district and in the middle of the night the black democrat supervisor of elections did a personal recount at 2 in the morning and changed from him leading by 2200 votes to him losing by 2200 votes.
I do not expect the Colonel to run for the senate seat, but the fact that he lost his former seat is as a result of crappola.
