So many adds on television about the “conservative” plan to build a border fence, to teach English to millions of illegals, to make them pay a fine, make them go to the back to the end of the line...
Yeah, right.
They'll hire a bunch of Eric Holder's people to teach them.

Their program will be forced Spanish language education for American Citizens. (then the English language learning requirement isn’t needed)
There will be a court that will declare it unconstitutional. It’s not going to happen. Same with denying them government benefits.
You and I know this is how it was originally back in the day but the progressives are in control these days.

Change that to plan to teach English to millions of Hispanics who don’t want to learn it.
There are not enough Mexicans who want to be US citizens to fit on the head of a pin. They are a highly nationlistic society and they have no desire to give up being Mexican citizens. They just want to come here and get the freebies. They don’t need to learn English because every service they need is offered in Spanish. Same deal in Miami for the cubans.
Why just think how much money can be funneled to those bastions of political correctness, mediocracy (yes, I meant to spell it that way — rule by the mediocre), and left-wing sentimentality, the colleges of education, to produce all the “qualified” English as a second language instructors the country will need.
All part of the plan...
Think bigger. Multiply the budget to accommodate immigrants with up to 150 different languages who need adult ESL training. The ACA is currently providing translations for 150 different languages to encourage people to enroll.

There is no need to pay to tutor illegals. They are the ones seeking the benefit of citizenship, they should study the language.
Like the citizenship test for legal immigrants, it’s the applicants responsibility to prepare for the test, which includes questions about American history, politics, government and culture. Should the applicant fail, they reschedule the test, and pay the fee for retaking the test. If they pass, they get to move towards getting their citizenship certificate.
I have prepared people for the citizenship test, it’s not terribly difficult, but it does require knowing a bit more about America than the average Rachel Maddow viewer would know. Nobody complains about difficulty or cost of study, it’s their duty to assimilate into their adoptive country.
Maybe I’m missing something here, but what does learning English have to do with the Amnesty plan?

Good questions, but even if the Learn-English-Program worked flawlessly, leftist brainwashing and vote buying works as well in English as Spanish or Chinese.
Free English-language cable TV, probably.
The Rubio-Schumer amnesty exacts no penalty for not learning English. People will not be deported if they don’t learn English. And as a practical matter, the bureaucracy would not be able to oversee such a program.
