It will be back. The "Terminator," that is.

The franchise is getting a reboot, Paramount announced Thursday, with three new films set to roll out soon. There's no official word on whether Arnold Schwarzenegger, 65, will resume the title role, but according to the Los Angeles Times, insiders say the actor is expected to be involved in the films in some way.

Schwarzenegger played the lead role of a robotic assassin in the first movie, released in 1984. The original film and its sequels earned more than $1 billion at the box office worldwide.

Paramount: “We’re not willing to take a risk on any new ideas, so how about this instead?”

The third one was pretty good. I loved the first and second though.

She was hot, and I loved how her model of terminator looked.

I didn’t hate the fourth one either, but I have not watched 3 and 4 many times as I have done with 1 and 2.

If they would split off and go with Christian Bale as John Connor, I would pay for that. I wouldn’t pay a wooden matchstick for the schvartz.

Nooooo! I love the originals. Let. This. Be. Wasn’t effing up Star Wars with those dopey ‘pre-quels’ enough for them?

How about an updated ‘Highlander,’ though? THAT, I could live with!

Yup. The Arnie arc is classic and more importantly, it’s DONE. The T universe has so many stories that don’t ‘need’ arnie’ Salvation suffered IMO because they ‘HAD’ to make a direct connection.

John Connor is at the core. There is plenty there to explore without his big robotic nemisis/psuedodad.

They're going to replace travel through time with travel through...
SPACE!

Imagine that.

Funny thing is, travelling "through" time requires travelling "through" space. Want to go to the past? You would have to go to where the earth "was" at that point in time first. We are not "static" in the universe; actually, we're hauling ass through the universe.

“America’s entertainment industry is mostly living off the carcass of its past.”

If you watch the movies made in the thirties and forties you can understand why. Great writing.

I’m tired of these reboots. I can see maybe if 50 years have passed or something but man, it seems like that want to remake everything.

She is one of the few people in Hollywood to be openly bisexual. Still HOT.

I give credit to Arnold for trying to get his body builder buddies into the business. This is because if you get such actors, the roles start to get written for them. And no matter their personal politics, such roles favor conservative culture.

You guys are all talking like rehashes are something new.

Hollywood has never made original films. Or rather, they have always stuck with proven premises. During the “Golden Age” of American movies, MGM made SIXTEEN Andy Hardy movies. They made SIX Thin Man movies.

When people stop going to see Ironman movies, Hollywood will stop making them... and then they’ll make the next big thing over and over. Because they’re in the business of making money.
