While Wall Street updated its forecasts for the expected write-down on the movie, Disney stock rose, and Credit Suisse's Michael Senno highlighted the conglomerate's "strong setup for the long term."
Wall Street analysts on Monday updated their predictions for the size of an expected write-down for Disney box-office flop The Lone Ranger and discussed the entertainment conglomerate's broader stock outlook.

I haven’t taken it seriously since I heard the name of the actor who plays the Lone Ranger. Armie Hammer? Seriously?
I don't boycott Hollywood over their biases. Actually, I don't "boycott" them at all. I just seldom go to new movies because they generally suck. I knew I didn't want to see this after seeing the trailer on a ROKU channel. The movie isn't a "western" at all. It's just another CGI-laden super-hero movie that mated with Pirates of the Caribbean.
It's easy for me to say "I'll never watch a movie with Jamie Foxx or Jim Carrey" because I wouldn't want to anyway, regardless of how abhorrent I find those gentlemen.
Named after his Marxist grandfather Armand Hammer.
The problem with this lousy movie is that it wasn’t titled, “Tonto.” Maybe Johnny Depp learned something about reading scripts.
Shows that Hollywood doesn’t make movies to entertain or even to make money. It makes movies to promote the producer’s vision of the world as it should be.

Oh well. Maybe if Disney and Hollyweird stopped dissing Americans both on and off screen, and make a decent wholesome movie, we’d go to one. Can’t tell you how many movies lately start out with blatant sex scenes or some other vile thing.
I personally have not been to a theater in over a year — when I last went, I had my I-phone stolen.
It’s just not fun anymore, either, to try to watch a movie amongst the current crowds of folks that make up the general public. Going to a movie is literally a risk to your life.
I’d so much rather go out to dinner with friends, or my husband ... and just enjoy some peace.
I have not been out to see a movie in about 25-30 years. I can not remember the last movie I went to. Do not think I have missed anything.
I haven’t seen the movie, but I have seen a couple of clips.
That crow on Tonto’s head is enough for me to save my money.
It’s weird I really liked it and my Dad (in his 60’s) did too.
I went into it knowing it would be cheesy and over the top, and basically pirates of the caribbean in the old west.
It wasn’t THAT bad, and I know there are some really bad movies nowadays. I think it got bad word of mouth in the beginning and everyone went with it without actually seeing it.
I also didn’t notice any PC stuff.
A friend of mine has a rule. Never go to movie theater that is near a bus line.

I was surprised when my daughter gave it a similar review. She usually has good judgement regarding movies. She’s a tough critic. So I think your analysis is correct.
“I was at my ex-GFs place waiting an hour for her to put make-up for our date ...”
That’s some EX ya got there dude...and hell, ya could have more than one!
I was in high school back then and her dad was a detective in the local PD. I had to make HER break up with me if u catch my drift..
Hint to Disney, if you want to make a successful Western, don’t dedicate large swathes of the dialogue to dissing Manifest Destiny.
I was last at the movies in 1999, and that was to see a special movie (don't remember the name of it). Don't plan on giving Hollywood another dime in the future, either.
My family and I saw The Lone Ranger and a good time was had by all. The whole theater. Cowboys, Indians, guns, arrows, trains. Fun stuff. Some people will find anything to gripe about.
