The word is that Gretchen Carlson is going to Meg Kelly's slot when Meg Kelly moves to some unannounced evening time slot. Apparently, the newly hired Elizabeth Hasselbeck with become the morning Fox on the Fox and Friends couch.
Whither goeth Meg Kelley.
1. Not replacing O'Reilley, Hannity, or Greta. Unless one of those are announcing retirement or a new partnership (Hannity and Kelly?), neither of which seems likely to me, then she'll not be replacing those flagship programs for Fox News.
2. That leaves 2 evening slots, one I like but don't watch, and the other of which I don't like and don't watch, respectively "Brett Baier" and "Shep Smith".
Baier is the traditional news program, the 6 o'clock time slot that is supposed to be hard news. I don't see him leaving. I'd like to watch his show more -- I even like it -- but 6 o'clock is seldom available to me, and he is on only that one time.
Shep, on the other hand, has 2 shows, and that alone makes his evening slot the most vulnerable. Besides that, his show just isn't that interesting. He isn't either. That makes Smith a weaker lead in for O'Reilly than it possibly could be under Megyn Kelly.
I read that Greta was saying she isn’t going anyplace.
You’re all mixed up lol. Gretchen works on Fox and Friends. She will be working during the day.
Right now this is the Fox lineup at night.
Bret
Shep
OReilly
Hannity
Greta
OReilly Rerun
My bet is Greta moves into the OReilly rerun spot and Kelly is put into the spot Greta now occupies.
At the end of her show last night Greta said she is making an announcement tonight (Thursday) and to tune in. Maybe this is the answer.
I like Gretta better than Kelly,Sorry but Kelly is starting to get on my nerves.
On the East coast they start replaying BOR at 11:00 pm. Perhaps they will delay 1hour and bump Hannity to 10:00 and Greta to 11:00 pm.
I was a big Kelley fan but somewhere after the birth of her second child I started to really dislike the woman.
I don’t think they move O’Reilly or Hannity. Those are their two highest rated programs.
I think they bump Greta down an hour.
Moving to 11 pm is not a win for Greta. In fact, it’s probably a slap in the face. She also has excellent ratings.
A 7 oclock slot is a gift to anyone, and Shep is wasting it.
My guess remains Shep keeps his early slot (3 pm?) and loses his 7 pm slot.
I hadn’t heard that.
I like Greta-a very thorough reporter lining up the best to interview, although I’m tired of hearing from rhinos McCain and Graham. I pass over Sean to watch Greta. I like Meghan. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow.
He is incapable of bringing any weight to the issues he addresses.
He sets up platitudes and asks guests to agree or not.
He has no depth to bring to the subjects he presents.
I could see that option as well.
The only hitch to that scenario is.. Sheps spot is not considered primetime.
OReillys show kicks off the primetime lineup.
They said Megyn would be moving to primetime.
So, are you suggesting Hannity goes back to tag-team, with something like Greta & Sean instead of Hannity and Colmes?
With his radio show, Hannity might want some relief.
Hannity has some incredible gifts as well, though.
He has a prodigious memory.
He is absolutely outstanding with groups in a moderator’s role.
Despite his flaws, and bending of the knee toward the powers that be, I think his heart is conservative.
Prime time can also mean Saturday or Sunday nights.
That is actually true.
You think that with a new baby that she wants to cut down on time spent away? That makes sense.
They definitely have weaknesses in the weekend lineups.
It offends about three million of them every night, a solid million+ more than any other host on FNC. Ratings trump aesthetics.
Most talking heads are preening, giggly chatterboxes who attempt to act intelligent.
Kelley comes across as a reasonably intelligent woman who attempts to act like a preening, giggly chatterbox.
Pretty much my thoughts too. My care meter didn’t even beep.
