About Mark Levinís Show Last Night . . .

Posted on 07/11/2013 12:21:54 PM PDT by Jacquerie

On Mark’s nationally syndicated show last night, he revealed the thrust of his soon-to-be launched Liberty Movement. He described once again how reform will not emerge from the men and women of the institutions responsible for the fast approaching demise of our society and republic.

If reform is to occur, it will only emerge from us, the sovereign people, the foundation of legitimate government. The vehicle for that reform will be the states, and the tool of reform is the constitutional amendment process of Article V.

He emphasized that neither of the two amendment processes of Article V provide for a constitutional convention to start over, to shake the etch-a-sketch clean. A state initiated convention would propose amendments and amendments only. IOW, Congress can and has proposed amendments, and the states can too, via the convention process. The states can call a convention to PROPOSE amendments, which, if agreed upon, are then sent to the states for three-fourths ratification, just as congressionally sourced amendments have been, from the first days of constitutional government. Says Mark, “This ladies and gentlemen, should extinguish the anxiety that the state convention process could hijack the constitution. It is impossible.”

As opposed to our colonial forebears, whose choices were either to live in tyranny or revolt, the Framers gave us a peaceful means by which to go over the heads of our oppressors. Our present situation is the reason they put it there. It is time to use it.

Mark has always emphasized bottom up conservatism. In that regard, his personal example should be an inspiration to us all. Since running and winning, at age 19 for a local school board seat, to his Landmark Legal Foundation battles with the Left, Mark doesn’t wait for superman to save his country.

Next month, Mark will release The Liberty Amendments: Restoring the American Republic. I cannot, of course, say with certainty that he will ask each and every one of us to exercise our God given sovereignty and press our state assemblymen and senator to exercise their authority to halt our slide into despotism. However, given his life-long passion and efforts, his willingness to get down in the mud with despicable men, women and organizations bent on creating a utopian hell, I am confident we will be called to action.

What we must fight: One of the strengths of the Left is their top down organization. Obama can call up protests and other actions anywhere, anytime, as his taxpayer funded agencies, dependents, goons and union thugs dutifully respond to the outrage of the day. Throw in the indispensable “Jawohl! Mein Fuhrer” media, and the disorganized republicrats cringe and acquiesce.

So, knowing this and Mark’s past activism, perhaps I’m not going too far out a limb to wonder if he has not coordinated his full frontal assault with other talk show hosts, such as good friends Rush and Hannity. Would Palin be aboard? I think so. Jim DeMint of The Heritage Foundation? Others? Considering the forces arrayed against constitutional restoration, it would a waste of time for Mark to be the lone ranger in this quest.

For the naysayers, the freeper defeatists, the Walter Mitty minutemen, recall the twenty six or so states that opposed Obamacare; recall the six year and ongoing jihad by Eric Holder’s DOJ against state sovereignty regarding border security and voter integrity. The EPA is busy setting state industrial and environmental standards designed to cripple our economy. Bear in mind that power is a drug. A federal drug is one that our state reps could develop an addiction to. In addition to state concerns, why wouldn’t they lust for input regarding federal statutes, treaties and federal court nominees via the senators appointed by them?

There is a strong whiff of resistance in the air. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to assume the offense against the Left, rather than continued, seemingly eternal defense? While I don’t believe we should wait for superman, I think Mark Levin, like Patrick Henry in 1765, may provide the spark of resistance to escalating tyranny.

I’m ready to match the lefty dorks.

If they yell, we’ll yell louder.

Violence? Make our day.

And if they want, it’s CW-II.

And I get to run the guillotine following our win.

The time to be nice (and civilized) is over...long over.

These creeps don’t play fair, and we aren’t going to do so any more.

It is good to see this.

... given up on fixing this through elections.

Even if the elections were error-free, it appears the takers, the liberals, those that are fundamentally anti-American and those that vote Democrat/Socialist because it is in their "blood"...have us outnumbered.

Good point. It is central to his argument.

As corollary, as long as we have two popularly elected houses of congress, our despotic fate is sealed.

As I said on the other thread on this subject - this effort will not remain a civil endeavor, nor should we expect the Ruling Class and it’s dependents to abide by any success in passage of new Amendments when they currently do not follow the current Amendments to the Constitution except when convenient.

The history of Marxists and Fascists in high office leaves no room for ambiguity - we need to understand and gird ourselves for the fact that such tyrants NEVER leave power without enacting and perpetrating violence, bloodshed and acts of abject subjugation and murder in order to hold onto their power.

They will charge us with terrorism, treason, rebellion, racism, homophobia and every other justification their kangaroo courts and lackeys will attempt to charge and enforce penalty upon us.

The good news is that Levin’s Liberty Documents may provide us a CAUSE to rally and unify behind rather than the balkanized factionalism the Conservative movement currently finds itself in.

If the cause is single purposed and we do not deviate from the goal and contests before us - it is possible that we might be able to hold onto what liberty we have left.

I find no instance in all world history where a people who lost their liberties, ever regained them in their lifetimes, except perhaps our Founders - who simply sought to restore the Sovereign that they determined was robbed from them.

If we want to keep our rights, we will have to fight for them and we must not delude ourselves into believing that such a contest will remain civil or merely fought in the arena of the courtroom.

I believe you will be proved correct.

I enjoyed Mark's Liberty and Tyranny, including his Conservative Manifesto at the end. The problem of course, was how to implement it, how to correct the corruption of our constitution.

It appears he has come up with a battle plan to take on the forces that are consciously destroying our society and republic.

Thanks for posting. I LOVE having a voice of (real) hope among the “freeper defeatists”. There are lots of those - hard not to be defeatist with the daily downers of new ways the leftists are destroying our wonderful country. This idea truly could be the spark that sets off some new fires of patriotism and action to rebuild our country.

I can’t wait to see the book, and hope he even has an order of priority, as to what amendments we should try to go for first. It seems that if you can just shift a few foundation stones, the whole edifice of communist oppression might just come tumbling down. (Just like they’ve destroyed some of our conservative foundations by destroying marriage and the family, installing income tax so many women must work and cant raise civilized kids, changing the way Senators are elected so they are more susceptible to big money influence, etc.) We need a plan and an order to go about this, and need to make sure we are all working towards the same goals.

Anyone know when his book is supposed to come out?

I’m quite certain that would have to be item number one on the list. Without state representation in the Senate we will continue with the status-quo.

In reality the seventeenth should be thrown out for their not changing the length of service from six years to two reflecting the term of the peoples representative compared to those representing the states. That alone should nullify the amendment. Not to mention turning the Founders vision on it’s head. Once the states were no longer represented, it was Katy bar the door. The government against the people, a clear example of no win. It was the people through the states that gave the federal government the right and power to exist, and when the states gave up it was all over.

Following the restoration of state representation in the Senate which is definitely a bridge to far in today’s world, then comes the request for an article V convention, which would be the final nail in the Republican form of government coffin IMHO. If no one is paying any attention to the Constitution now, you can bet your last dollar those in power will be paying attention when they are given carte blanche with an Article V convention where they rule the show. Extremely dangerous move IMHO unless you are holding a royal flush, and 20 divisions of crack troops. And even then...

They can go be liberals/socialists/progressives, whatever - but “over there”, in that state, and leave the rest of us alone.

It wouldn’t take but 10 years for their society to totally disintegrate whilst ours would thrive.

As long as Levin is going to suggest Article V solutions to changing our federal government via amendment, I thought I'd throw out an Article IV Section 3 solution into the mix.

Let's try to alter the make-up of Congress by adding new states to the Union.

If we split California into two states, one that contains Los Angeles and San Francisco, and another that contains everything else, we can add two more Republican Senators to Congress.

If we split Texas into two states, we can add another two Republican Senators to Congress.

We might even try splitting Florida into two states, possibly adding two more Republican Senators, although Florida is slowly turning purple.

Currently, Republicans have 46 out of 100 seats, or 46% of the votes. Adding two Senators for California2 and two Senators for Texas2 yields 50 out of 104 seats, or 48% of the vote. If we throw in a secure Florida2 as well, it becomes 52 out of 106 seats, or 49% of the vote.

After this, we can look to increasing the cap of 435 representatives in the House, too.

There are just too many people these days to be represented by a body whose capacity was fixed in 1911, when the national population was 92 million people. The population is now 310 million people. We need more members in the House to keep up with the growth in population over the last 100 years.

The main thing is for conservatives to agree on the order of what is the absolute #1 priority, win that battle, then on to the next and next. Some of those will have much different ripple effects (like dropping a pebble in a pond, vs. dropping a boulder) of how much improvement we’ll get for each one. What we don’t want would be all the different states working on different things, where the effort is diluted and nothing gets accomplished.

Conservatives have been starved for a real leader to give them something to unify them and a goal to work toward.

Your history lesson is spot on.

Where I disagree, as I touched on in my post, I think repeal of the 17th is doable. It is certainly necessary.

I also understand your concern regarding a runaway convention. Another thread today expressed the same fear.

First, as Mark explained, a state initiated convention would be limited as Congress is, to amendments.

Secondly, whatever amendments emerged would be subject to ratification by three-fourths of the states.

But let's say you are correct as to an open, carte blanche convention. Another poster today thought the constitutional convention of 1787 was illegal because it went outside the Articles of Confederation. We are comparing similar situations, yes?

Well, if that is the fear, the states could be prepared for it as they were in 1787. Back then, delegates from NJ and IIRC, DE were limited BY STATE LAW from considering any change that denied equality of state suffrage in Congress. That is the reason each state has an equal number of senators.

My point is, for instance, my state of Florida in a future convention could limit our delegates to decide on a limited number of specific amendments and how to vote on them.

The 16th and 17th Amendments helped propel us along the road to an evil Socialist democracy. Both must be repealed.

I have most of Mark's books and listen to him most days. I look forward to this one.

I feel whatever Mark proposes will be a long shot. We need a plan C. Plan C (restoration after Collapse) is for the various states to openly coordinate a Constitutional plan to deal with an economic collapse caused by the Federal government.

The Feds have a plan and it is Marshal Law.

The States need to actively have in place proposals to quickly dissolve ALL unconstitutional aspects of the Federal government.

The States must have a coordinated plan to repel what will become a truly tyrannical government.

Part of the States plan can include the Amendments Mark will propose.

What is distressing is the likelihood that there will be no coordination and violence and chaos will ensue.

It's less about it being Republicans, and more about it being a shake-up of the status quo.

Levin said that we're winning a majority of the state governments, but we're losing the national races. Okay, so let's create more state governments in order to get more/new players into the process.

Grow the Senate by adding new states. Grow the House by removing the cap that was based on the 1910 census. If the Supreme Court can overturn the Voting Rights Act because the map is drawn from 1970 data, then the House shouldn't be based on 1910 data.

I think that Mark is going in the direction I am as well.

I do hold one caution however. Mark says “impossible” for the state's convention to make wholesale changes and I agree that the Constitution’s wording clearly makes that structural confinement. However, the original constitutional convention convened under the Articles of Confederation was not envisioned to have the power to do what they did at the time and they did it anyway.

History and not structural confines must be our guide and we need to go into this with our eyes wide open as to the possibilities and have an arsenal of forces prepared in these conventions if that is the route chose.

The States must have a coordinated plan to repel what will become a truly tyrannical government.

Right now there is no plan, only varying degrees of capitulation to the Federal beast. SCOTUS rules and the States melt and apologize for the demands of their residents because federal monies are still a lust most states cannot resist.

Part of the States plan can include the Amendments Mark will propose.

That is one of the only saving graces I think viable in Mark's idea. It's not going to prevent the civil breakdown and violence that is near to our doors. We are too far gone. Tyrants will not back down from their end-game. I have to wonder whether or not Patriots will back down from their goal when the threats manifests themselves personally.

What is distressing is the likelihood that there will be no coordination and violence and chaos will ensue.

That is inevitable at this point, regardless of whether Conservatives are united or not - which we ARE NOT. Violence and chaos has been planned from the beginning with the MarxoFascists. Create misery and then blame your political opponents for causing it.

Every Marxist regime come into power instigates violence in order to impose absolute rule to 'restore order'. We already have arrived at the fact there is no rule of law, only the rule of tyranny which is arbitrary.

Violence is coming. It's being stoked. The only variable is how many Americans are going to submit and allow themselves to be subjugated in order to get a promise of subsistence or the vain hope of being left alone.

Yes, I’ve heard it said of conservatives that getting them to coordinate is like herding cats. That’s what happens when you have lots of independent minded folks that like to be responsible for themselves, that’s good and as it should be.

But in times of war (and we are in a war), we need to “pull together”.

Mark 3:25

English Standard Version (ESV)

24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. 26 And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end. 27 But no one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house.
(Quoting Christ, not Abe Lincoln )

What are you getting at in that post? Don’t understand what you were saying there.

I addressed that possibility in post #32.

He has some VERY interesting ideas about possibilities if we live through to the other side.

I am hoping and praying some of Mark Levin’s ideas might turn the tide without violence and civil war. I’m just afraid we wont make it through if all that happens, because I think there is a real possibility we’ll be invaded from the south (Mexico, Central, S. America), East (Russia) and West (China). But anyway, if it happens, and if we survive without coming under some other dictatorship - his ideas are very thought provoking.
