Actually what would be a good show is a bunch people trying to solve the mystery as to why everything Stephen King writes is made into a movie/Tv drama.

Bill: “Hey Joe, can you understand it?”

Joe: “No Bill, it just doesn’t make sense. 90% of his books are made up of filler and almost always crap out at the end.”

Bill: “Then how does he get all these shows? By God man, what is the reason? Is it sexual favors?”

Rachelle Lefevre is hot, but the show is largely boring with forgettable characters that you have no emotional investment in. Bad soap opera. They should’ve done it as a movie if they were to do it at all.

I like The Mentalist because the stars are flawed but basically decent people. I read somewhere that the show has a higher-than-normal percentage of older, conservative, and Republican fans, even though the show is predictably liberal in some ways. But in others, it is not - Lisbon, for example, wears a crucifix and prayed the Hail Mary in one episode when her life was threatened. And Madeline Hightower, an off-and-on character, was depicted saying a traditional grace before a meal with her children. And some of the criminals are actually minorities, although many are rich, white people. And there is a lot of humor in the series.

"Defiance"

I enjoyed it. That season finale was packed full - like they ran out of season to sort-of wrap stuff up.

...and it doesn't return until June 2014. Ugh.

Yeah, even the characters that we are supposed to like are unattractive to me.

I've been watching Falling Skies as well, and there are some chacters in THAT show that I actually like (Colonel Weaver, for one). And I think Moon Bloodgood is HOT.

I’ve seen no aliens yet, but I thought one of the promos depicted alien spaceships. Maybe I was mistaken. Am I wrong that aliens are or will be part of the plot?

I’m a big Stephen King fan. If I was ranking his books from best to worst “Under the Dome” would be just above the middle, barely.

Some thoughts:

Homo couple wasn’t in the book.

Barbie didn’t kill anyone in the beginning.

The Pastor is a more “fundamentalist” in the book. He is a bad guy. There is a “good” pastor in the book. She leads the First Congregational Church but secretly no longers believes in God.

The dead Police Chief’s wife is a fairly major character in the book. Seems to be replaced by the female deputy in the show.

The military is much more active in the book than the show so far.

Seems that SK has become even more lefty since he wrote his book. Pity.

Simpsons did it.

I just saw The Simpsons Movie for the first time (despite being kind of a fan of the TV show, I just never had the opportunity before) an hour ago.

Anyway, the plot to the Simpsons Movie seems to have been pretty much the same.

"If that show had any kind of logic, they would have construction crews working 24/7 outside the dome trying to smash through it and/or dig under it. But instead everyone outside just stands around picking their butt."

Yeah, the army is moving with the same sense of urgency I got from a Sleepwalking Senorita at the local KFC the other day.

I just loved the scene in the premier with Nolan and Arissa driving along singing along with Johnny Cash “Going to Jackson”.

Its a unique take on the traditional alien sci fi show.

I am not watching any programs with homo crap in them.

You'd better find something else to occupy your time then. Homosexual characters are de rigeur on TV now. Hollywood is run and owned by gays and we're now in the "de-sensitization" propaganda phase. We went through something similar on TV when audiences were programmed to accept feminism via Mary Tyler Moore, Rhoda, Maude, Murphy Brown, Roseanne and much other argle bargle.

I noticed the show is full of “anti-hero” people. Almost every person has some major character flaw. Once in a while they do a good deed but they are not good people. This is standard Hollywood pabulum. Falling skies is pretty good but they have several characters that are bad as well and they try to force the diversity thing...

Same here. I don’t need to see that stuff. And it’s nothing like the book.

SyFy’s Defiance has grown on me

Me, too. Hope the lesbian thing is over with. I think it is going to be a whole year until it starts up again. I wonder why SyFy does that.

You better just disconnect the cable and head to the library.

I have been tempted to do the same.

They even killed off the one interesting guy in the first ep, the sheriff played by Jeff Fahey. I couldn’t believe it.

And, yes, Moon Bloodgood is hot.
