18 jars suspected feces, 1 jar urine confiscated by Texas Capitol police at abortion debate

July 12, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Unconfirmed rumors have been flying on social media sites all day that abortion supporters were planning to disrupt the Texas legislature by throwing feces, urine and used tampons at pro-life legislators.

The Texas Senate is today debating a highly contentious bill that would ban abortion past 20 weeks, and put in place stringent new regulations on the state's abortion clincs.

Now the Texas Department of Public Safety has issued a press release which appears to lend solid credence to the rumors. According to the release, DPS officials have "discovered one jar suspected to contain urine, 18 jars suspected to contain feces, and three bottles suspected to contain paint." In addition, they found "significant quantities" of female hygiene products as well as "glitter and confetti." Police confiscated one jar suspected to contain urine, 18 jars suspected to contain feces, and three bottles suspected to contain paint.

The press release was issued in response to the social media backlash after news broke that security officials at the Capitol were confiscating female hygiene products. For a while this afternoon the hashtag #tampongate was trending on Twitter, with pro-abortion activists alleging that Republicans were discriminating against menstruating women.

The DPS has reportedly stopped confiscating unopened packages of tampons and maxi pads, but defended its actions as necessary. "In the interest of the safety and security of Texas legislators and the general public, these inspections will continue until the conclusion of Senate business," they said.

The Texas debate has been characterized by heated confrontations between pro-abortion and pro-life protesters and legislators. The original version of the bill failed to pass late last month after a now-famous 11-hour filibuster by Sen. Wendy Davis, followed by raucous shouting by pro-abortion activists in the gallery that delayed the vote until minutes fater the midnight deadline.

In response Texas Gov. Rick Perry called a second special session to pass the bill, vowing that the state would not be cowed by "mob tactics."

Earlier this month a small group of pro-abortion activists was caught on tape shouting "Hail Satan!" in an effort to drown out pro-life activists who were singing Amazing Grace.

The following is the full text of the DPS release:

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) today received information that individuals planned to use a variety of items or props to disrupt legislative proceedings at the Texas Capitol.

Therefore for safety purposes, DPS recommended to the State Preservation Board that all bags be inspected prior to allowing individuals to enter the Senate gallery, which the State Preservation Board authorized.

During these inspections, DPS officers have thus far discovered one jar suspected to contain urine, 18 jars suspected to contain feces, and three bottles suspected to contain paint. All of these items – as well as significant quantities of feminine hygiene products, glitter and confetti possessed by individuals – were required to be discarded; otherwise those individuals were denied entry into the gallery.

In the interest of the safety and security of Texas legislators and the general public, these inspections will continue until the conclusion of Senate business.

And just how did those classroom items from Columbia University Social Studies Department get down to Texas?

Sorry, must be a mistake.

Liberals are the ones that are always spouting platitudes about "defeating bad ideas with good" and "the pen is mightier than the sword" and "let us reason together."

All of those fine-sounding words are nothing but a coat of pretty paint on the squalor just below.

Imagine, just for a minute imagine, what would be the result if participants of a TEA Party rally were discovered to be preparing something like this.

As I understand it, the killers are ticked off because they want to kill babies older than 5 months? The Repubs. want to ban abortion after 20 weeks (5 months) and the killers are against that? So in other words, they want another Kermit Gosnell and if you are against that, you are a participant in the “war against women” and therefore must have doo doo and pee pee thrown at you. Yes, their logic is astounding.

No. It’s a bio/hazmat terrorist attack and it should be dealt with appropriately.

You never hear this kind of evil coming from the Right, it’s always from the lunacy of the left. Liberalism is truly a mental disease.

The “co-Exist” crowd is comparing human life to feces, and body fluids?? Hmm.. No wonder they are too stupid to not hump each other like animals in heat, each and every single day- all day long, for years on end.

They have to work at it to get pregnant. Let’s be honest here.

Bioterrorism. The same kind of stuff that Gitmo prisoners do to their guards. They should be charged with intent to commit bioterrorism.

Thing is, even with urine, feces, and menstrual blood thrown at the legislators, the place would be more sanitary than at abortion mills like Kermit Gosnell’s. Isn’t there another abortionist in Texas who is similar to Gosnell? Said aborted babies were like meat in a crockpot?
