Then have his attorney begin Suing every media organization and commentator that liabled him.

Yep. Since a regular job is probably never going to happen for him... This is one guy I would like to see sue the living s**t out of every news organization and commentator that slandered him and come away with millions. I hope he does, and is successful, and retires to some tropical island set for life.

I would gladly contribute to a fund to set him up in Peru if he has relatives there.

Albuquerque, New Mexico has a low percentage of African-American population. The county has 3.4% AA. Unfortunately, violent crime seems a bit high in general. But it looks like there are certainly some safe areas.

I would think: Change your name. Grow a mustache. Move to a safe neighborhood in a county that has a low AA population. Move into a gated community. Carry and keep your eyes open. He should be all right.

I don’t belive that he will ever be able to live under his own name. He will be forced by the “civil rights lobby” to change his identity and move to another state. Maybe another country.

Give it a year or two, have him grow a mustache and wear sunglasses in public. Very few people are likely to recognize him an a year or two. And the vast majority of black people aren’t going to try and harm him. If they do recognize him.

It's not a problem that "very few people are likely to recognize him an a year or two." His problem is that ONE PERSON will recognize him. That person may be an LEO who has access to such information, or a DMV, or county, or IRS worker. The AT&T white pages can uncover his hideout, as well as hundreds of for-pay Web sites that deal in information. He cannot depend on being hidden in this country.

At the same time, can you imagine the "street cred" that one would get for doing the "justice for Trayvon?" There'd be a crowd of killers standing in line to get a chance. If he is killed from a distance, by a complete stranger, the crime will never be solved - and everyone knows that.

On top of that, Eric Holder is surely burning midnight oil, preparing to indict him for something - for anything, only to put him in prison, if only for a day. He'd suffer an inexplicable heart attack on that day, or an unfortunate fall down the stairs, and nobody would see anything suspicious.

IMO, GZ's only option is to leave the country immediately. It may be still appealing to many to inflict the final justice upon GZ, but a trip to a foreign country is all but impossible for most of those who are burning with revenge. Those trips require money, passport, and a reason that you explain at the consulate. Once there, you'd better know the language and your way around... and, if you are unlucky, you may get lost in the jungle. The job of an international hitman is not for everyone.

I think his only chance at any kind of life would be to change his name, have plastic surgery on his face, drop all the weight he gained—and then move a long way from Florida.

That's why he and his wife both need to change their names.

There are other things they can do to protect their privacy, but that's a start.

Of course he could go to Peru or some place. That's an option. I believe I heard he speaks Spanish. So that could be a good option as well.

If he does, he STILL needs to change his name. Antonio Rodriguez. Ricardo Lopez.

Yes; he'd also need surgery to change his face; and his relatives must be either similarly hidden (revenge can be carried out against them too - remember Chris Dorner?) and made sure they don't unwittingly dislose his location (they can be followed, or simply threatened or tortured.) It's a complicated process.

GZ would also have to depend on the fact (?) that there are no racists anywhere in the long chain of people that, by their job or otherwise, become aware of his new name and his new face. If I were a betting person, I'd bet against GZ surviving in the USA. New Black Panthers already sent the word that there is money for anyone who helps in delivering "justice." It could be a lot of money... eventually it would be enough for a marginally honest person to betray GZ.

Is it technically possible for GZ to survive here? Well, yes, of course. But it's so hard that even fugitives can't do it well - they get caught eventually (Eric Rudolph, for example.) But fugitives have it easy; they know that only the police may recognize them, and the worst that can happen is they get arrested. In GZ's case anyone can recognize him, regardless of their skin color, and if his secret is uncovered he will be tortured to death.

That's why emigration is the only feasible option. Everything else is just living in fear, waiting for being found out. And it's technically hard too.

Well, emigration might be a good option.

Or, just leaving the country for a year or two.

Honestly, when it comes to the thugs that might do Zimmerman harm, I don’t think most of them have an attention span that would last beyond a week.

Actually, MOST of them don’t have an attention span beyond 10 minutes.

If he disappears for a while and is untraceable, and doesn’t pop up again where there’s a thug of opportunity, I think he should be okay.

But obviously I take a more optimistic view than you do.

Riots and looting start in thirty minutes.

Rioting not starting here. All the folks who supported Trayvon were too drunk or stoned to even care about the verdict for now.

"A pessimist is a well informed optimist" :-)

I fully agree with that. However GZ is not up against some thugs who are offended that he killed their homie. That would be survivable because the gang would have limited interest and limited opportunity to chase him all over the country. Besides, people who live by the sword don't live for long; a gang won't be shocked by such attrition.

GZ is up against political operatives who are not idiots, and who have an infinitely long attention span. He would be the bait, and they know how to find GZ and what to use him for. They even have several of their own Community Organizers working in the top offices of the country! What information can be hidden from them? What is the chance that they are above stoking a racial conflict just to push the country a little more toward the abyss?

Carry and keep your eyes open.

I was flipping channels last night after the verdict, Fox, CNN and MSNBC. I caught $harpton whining on MSNBC and G. Zimmerman's brother on CNN with Piers Morgan. Zimmerman's brother is one sharp guy, he put Morgan down big time. Telling him at one point after Morgan said something particularly stupid, "Maybe that's the way they do things in your country but here in America, here's how we do it" and then proceeded to put Morgan in his proper place, all Morgan could do was stutter out some inanity.

On MSNBC, the anchor(?) woman was whining, that now that the verdict is in, Zimmerman will be carrying again, she thought that that was a terrible thing that he would be armed yet again, after killing an innocent, unarmed child.

I was very impressed with GZ’s brother. GZ is a lucky man to have such a wonderful family.

He can retrain for a career in nursing, for instance. Hope his lawyer can
get him some stake money by sueing the networks for defamation, etc.

“he should announce he’s starting an organization that helps at risk boys before the go get themselves killed.”

That’s a really good idea — at least the part about him starting an organization. He’s quite mild mannered, so it would be easy for him to stand back and fade. Maybe the better option would for him to “get out there”, bold, and in-your-face. A kick-ass cause that focuses on protecting black children would get some attention.

Depends what is meant by "marked man".If we mean subject to violence by some Black Panther...yah,for the time being at least. If we mean "in the crosshairs of the Department Of Just Us"...you betcha!

GZ *will* be prosecuted by Just Us,and that prosecution will make the Florida prosecution look like a picnic in the park by comparison.
