Japanese police are hunting a poetry-writing killer after the bodies of five people were found in a tiny mountain village.
The five victims represent a third of the population of the hamlet in western Yamaguchi prefecture, where police found three corpses on Sunday after two houses were burned to the ground.
Investigators on Monday discovered the bodies of two more people, who reports said appeared to have been battered to death. All five of the dead were in their 70s or 80s.
The chief suspect is a 63-year-old villager at whose home police found a "haiku" poem stuck to the window

Does this mean we can expect 12 more murders? ( Isn’t Haiku 5/7/5?)
Very nice!
This is like the Agatha Christie novel “And then there were none” :
Ten little Injuns standin’ in a line,
One toddled home and then there were nine;
Nine little Injuns swingin’ on a gate,
One tumbled off and then there were eight.
Eight little Injuns gayest under heav’n.
One went to sleep and then there were seven;
Seven little Injuns cuttin’ up their tricks,
One broke his neck and then there were six.
Six little Injuns all alive,
One kicked the bucket and then there were five;
Five little Injuns on a cellar door,
One tumbled in and then there were four.
Four little Injuns up on a spree,
One got fuddled and then there were three;
Three little Injuns out on a canoe,
One tumbled overboard and then there were two.
Two little Injuns foolin’ with a gun,
One shot t’other and then there was one;
One little Injun livin’ all alone,
He got married and then there were none.[1]
Only in this version, haiku is used as each victim meets his demise, and there are 15 targets on the island.
Oooh, spooky.
link misdirection
hope they hang the bastard now
some shits need hanging
Japan is one of the most authoritarian countries in the world with respect to law enforcement.
There is next to zero private ownership of firearms. The police can hold anyone for questioning for an indefinite period, without any probable cause or even suspicion. There are no rights against unreasonable search and seizure. Americans would not tolerate such a police state.
Yet even that rigid law enforcement cannot stop "crazy" or "evil". Q.E.D.
Now you’re starting to scare me. :{)
Oh. A Vogon advance party.
Rolling on the floor
laughing so hard I could puke
please keep it coming
Yet.
In the last 100 years liberty has eroded significantly and the rate of erosion has accelerated since FDR.
When I think of the impositions put on private property by The Clean Water Act and the advent of No Knock Raids, I wonder if the Bill of Rights really matters any more.
And now with Obama Care the IRS can track your bank accounts and medical records.
Then we have the FISA Secret Warrants; they can search your home with out ever telling you and if you discover that your home was searched you are by law forbidden to tell anyone. We the people are supposed to be comforted by the fact that these warrants are approved by special judges. Oh I am very comforted that pretty much all of the warrant request are approved by these judges.
Our rights are vanishing like the morning dew and we had better start fighting those that want our rights to evaporate.
