Mystery Creature Sighting Stuns N.J. Town; No One Has First Clue What It Is

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) – There has been a strange sighting of a strange creature in a suburban New Jersey town – and pictures of it have residents asking “What the heck is that?”

CBS 2’s John Slattery was working the day watch out of Manhattan, when his boss gave him this juicy assignment.

He took a vehicle out of Midtown. The sighting happened on Friday. He and his cameraman headed for the leafy community of Ridgewood, which was apparently being terrorized by an odd creature that lurks in and out of storm drains.

Slattery obtained video of the creature from a resident, but, like CBS 2’s reporter, was mystified.

“I saw a strange animal in the front yard,” witness Rob Lyons said.

Lyons had the presence of mind to shoot a picture of the creature on his smartphone.

A Republican ?

Ridgewood is in an area that is very wealthy, quite Republican and has a lot of Christian influence, even various very conservative Reformed Christian denominations that remain there from colonial times.

If all of NJ was like that area, NJ would be the most conservative State in the union.

Of course, the there is a significant influence of "mainstream" Republican ideas and lack of acknowledgement of "new world order" because of the heavy nwo influence amongst the area's population as well. It's a bastion of fine suburban living for those who work in high-paying NYC jobs.

“It looks like a red fox with an advanced case of sarcoptic mange. If it is coming in and out of sewers, there is no telling what else it may have picked up.”

By the looks of it, I would say it spent the weekend with Lindsey Lohan.

Not a dog? Of course it is. What do you think it is, a chupacabra?

It’s a mangy fox. They have long tails and they behave like cats. Case closed.

If it isn’t Carlos Danger lurking in the sewers, then I agree with the fox ID. Long tail is the clue.

“The Ridgewood photo is of a mangy red fox,” DEP spokesman Larry Hajna said in an email.
