Roger Sperry won the Nobel Prize in 1981 for his work on what is now commonly known as right brain-left brain thinking. Sperry theorized that some very specific activities were controlled by one side of the human brain or the other for example, the right side controlled creative tasks, while the left side was where logic, language and reasoning lived.
People were fascinated by the idea, and in the three decades since, bookstores, television, the Internet and college psychology classes everywhere have been filled with endless discussions of the differences between right-brain, left-brain, and whole-brain thinkers.
(Ironically, Sperrys Nobel prize, like his theory, was also split: two Harvard doctors were also recognized that year in the same medicine and physiology category for their discoveries in visual system processing.)

Her whole body is going clockwise. Does not change for me, I cannot MAKE her spinning change. How can people see her spinning the opposite direction?
I could have sworn she’s only spinning counter-clockwise. But when I switch tabs and come back to the image later, she’s spinning clockwise and I can’t see how I pictured it going counter-clockwise. Navigate away and back again and she’s back to counter-clockwise. Interesting.
It doesn’t appear to be very useful as an actual test for left-right brain thinking, at least not to me.
Keep trying :)
I do. I have to pretend I am gripping a writing instrument, even just slightly, to remind myself which side is which. I also see the image changing direction, even in my primary focus.
I am an artist and very logical.
I’m like that, the only way I could tell my right from left is that I said the Pledge of Allegiance with my right hand on my heart. Seriously that is STILL the way I can tell. I also had trouble learning to tell time, obviously on a clock with hands.
I was no dummy by any means, good grades and all that.
Stare at the shadow of her foot. Remember that it is only shown when her leg his behind her. It is the back part of the spin. The leg doesn't cast a shadow when it is in front of her body, only behind. Concentrate, concentrate. And when you wake up she will be spinning counterclockwise... and your wallet will be missing.
Strictly clockwise.

Nope, doesn’t change. Think that means I’m just ornery and stuck in my ways. ;)
I just figured out how to switch it at will.
Yep, that's the trick that works for me every time.
If you see a clockwise rotation, you are a right-brain thinker.
If you see a counter-clockwise spin, you are a left-brain thinker.
If you see both clockwise and counter-clockwise spin, you are a bisexual.
All you need to do is stare at the image of the spinning woman for 30 seconds.
I tried this, and about 15 seconds in, the images instantly flips from left-hand rotation to right-hand rotation.
Mostly spinning clockwise but sometimes going anti-clockwise for a few seconds.
Where was the poll they mentioned?
I see her spinning clockwise most of the time but I can make her go counter clockwise if I want to. Does that mean I use both sides of my brain, a whole brain thinker?
That’s what I was afraid of! I guess that means I’m seriously a lesbian in a man’s body!! ;)
Clockwise is the creative part of your brain, the right side. Left side of the brain sees counter clockwise, people who have good development on both sides see her changing direction. I can make her switch back and forth. Try looking at her out of the corner of your eye for a while and see if she switches.
You be dyslexic?
