Did your kids start school today?

My daughter has 2 more weeks of freedom. She’d become a complete night owl and we’re going to have to shock her system soon.

Did you listen to the Duck song...

Then he waddled away, waddle waddle.

That one sticks in your ear like peanut butter on the roof of your mouth.

The emperor ordered a chopper
For the family dog to ride-
I wouldn’t see the sense there,
Even if I really tried

Most of us have a pet or two,
We care for them ourselves-
They aren’t just fancy toys
Kept with pet-sitter elves

Maybe I’m being contumacious
But can someone tell me why
He needs a pricey dog-ferry
To look like a “regular guy”?

That whole Obama dog business reminds me of stories my Brit neighbor tells about the wealthy and noble in England having kids and handing them off right after birth to nurses and nannies to live in a separate wing of the house, brought to the parents for photo ops only so they can pretend they are just like the little people...

It could have been worse. I won’t link it because I can’t risk hearing it and getting it stuck in my head. A toody-ta-a-toody-ta-a-toody-ta-ta.

and even Prince William and Kate have changed a nappy or two and put in the carseat themselves. that dog exists as a photo op, i don’t know why they bother bringing him, let alone on his own plane.
A+++

He used to be the front for Reggie’s “job”. What kind of vain SOB names his dog after himself? I cannot wait until those people move back to Chicago.

My contractor compadre and our welder friend called in the afternoon yesterday-they said grab your gloves, drill and wire cutters-we are on the way with your new gates. I now have a brand new 10 ft. ranch gate across the driveway, and a new walk gate to the front door-an overworked back from too much heavy lifting, and aching hands from stretching and tying fence wire, but the expense of a helper is something we were glad to avoid-at least we three know what we’re doing...
