Film director Oliver Stone—who has made no secret of his liberal political views—called President Barack Obama a “snake” for his role in National Security Agency spying programs that have become, he said, more about silencing protestors than finding terrorists.
“Obama is a snake,” Stone told an audience in Tokyo on Monday. “He’s a snake. And we have to turn on him.”
“The Boston Marathon, they were so busy tracking down potential protestors…that they missed the bombers,” Stone told the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan. “It’s never about terrorists, it always becomes about the way J. Edgar Hoover did it; he brought all the weight of government to bear against protestors. He didn’t like protestors. He thought they were left-wing communists. He never could find the proof, but by the time the Vietnam War came around, as you know, 500,000 people were on the list, and they were being eavesdropped on. And where are we now? Same place.”
Stone said that admitted NSA leaker Edward Snowden “is a hero to me. He sacrificed his well-being for the good of us all” and that Russia’s Vladimir Putin did the right thing by granting Snowden asylum, according to PressTV.
“I’m proud of him for doing it,” Stone said of Putin and Russia. “We need more countries to stand up to the U.S.”
Stone also called Snowden a hero last month and said it’s “a disgrace that Obama is more concerned with hunting him down [Snowden] than reforming these George Bush-style eavesdropping techniques.”
Last summer in the lead up to the 2012 Republican National Convention, Stone said he’d vote for Ron Paul over Obama if Paul secured the GOP nomination. Stone suggested that Paul was the “only one” who’s “saying anything intelligent about the future of the world.”
Relations between Russia and the U.S. have been frosty since the Snowden asylum decision, with Obama abruptly canceling a meeting with Putin, which was taken as a snub.
This is what waking up and realizing BOTH sides of the aisle are working against the citizens they purport to represent looks like.
Look at FR after Romney. after W. Since Reagan.
We have more in common with some of these folks than we have in opposition in many cases:
1. Keep the government out of my business.
2. Keep the government out of the marketplace.
3. If you go to war, make sure its worth going, and make sure you WIN IT.
4. Don’t take shit off of the Russians or Chinese, and stop sending our jobs over there.
Even the left realizes that the unions are a suicide pact, and so are many of the greenies (just the liberal graft wing, like Wall St. and oil are to the right)
The one good thing about marijuana becoming legal is that maybe libertarianism can be about less government and more personal responsibility. It’s a simple, populist, platform.

Seems like Stone may be slowly coming around to that realization.
Well, first of all Stone’s a known kook but even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.
More credible sources and people need to turn on Obama and recognize the evil he has become. That’s really the only way a lot of news sources can regain a little semblance of credibility again after they’ve wasted it all supporting such an obvious fraud and charlatan. The facts of this presidents fraud, ineptness, incompetence, irresponsibility and mendacity are low-hanging fruit for any news agency or journalist to pluck.

I am pretty sure this got around the propaganda shield that protects the Current Occupant now squatting in the White Hut. And it is probably pretty close to the personal feelings of Oliver Stone, as I saw his statement that was presented on the English-language cable channel CCTV, the international official voice of the Red Chinese government. Oliver seemed pretty sincere.
Given a choice of obtaining information from international BBC, CNN or the CCTV cable broadcast, the Chinese are probably less likely to inject gratuitous propaganda. They are no friends of the Current Regime in the White Hut.
The Red Chinese are no compatriots of the Muslim world, either. They seem to consider Barack Hussein O’Bama as more Muslim than “American”.
Does it make Oliver Stone a racist?
Back in the late 1960s, Olive Stone dropped out of Yale and joined the army. He went from being a person who cared enough about the country and disgusted enough with the elitism of who fought that he did what he did. He became very disillusioned and disgusted from what he saw in Viet Nam and one result is his movie BORN ON THE FOURTH OF JULY, which is a very strong statement about treatment of veterans. So, Oliver Stone comes by his cynicism through actions.
This is where constitutional conservatives and progressives can get it together. Snowden's not a traitor...he, like Stone, is someone who cares about the US and put himself out there. Everything Oliver Stone has done indicates a dislike of things like being spied on and out of control government.
So no, I'm not surprised at all. For a real lot of the intellectual leftiest, NSA spying, drones, and Benghazi would leave them fed up with Obama.
Yeah. So make a movie exposing just how much he is a snake.
The main disconnect with the Matt Damons and Oliver Stones is they cannot grasp that a police state is the naturally occurring byproduct of progressivism. If you were to compare their belief in the socio-political context to the laws of physics, they seem to believe that an object dropped should not and will not fall to the floor, simply because they don’t want it to. And they will never give up their belief, no matter how many times they have been proven wrong.

Ther is a big difference between a traditional liberal and a modern day progressive. What you’ve described is a traditional liberal (whom we have much in common with). Oliver is a fractional liberal.

Will Oliver...make a movie, and for this movie you won’t have to make anything up.
He also made Platoon based upon his personal experiences in Vietnam. Platoon along with The Deer Hunter, Apocolypse Now , and Saving Private Ryan are IMHO the best war movies ever made. They showed the true nature of war: horrific.
