So sorry, Rush. Just know that Punkin’ and you were blessed to have each other....be it a short time. When your heart starts to heal, the great memories will bring a smile. Hang in there and we’re praying for ya’.
I do understand his pain, and I pray that comfort finds him quickly. Rush, time heals.
Mew’re welcome.
I’m so sorry Rush, certain pets can get to a place in your heart that nobody else can reach. When they leave, we think they have left a huge hole in our hearts, but it’s not an empty hole, it is so filled with love that we can live for years off the love they have left behind. That is their gift to us, You were lucky to have Punkin, and she was lucky to have you.
I gotta stop reading this thread. This tough old a-whole is in tears over the loss of my friend Hu.
I’ve been a dog guy all my life. But the sadness I felt when our daughter’s first cat (age 15) died and the affection I feel for our current goof ball has surprised me.
My sadness is shared with Rush.
I would see Sherlock, my golden retriever, at the foot of my bed, curled up in his normal sleeping position, in the middle of the night, for a week after his death. Heartbreaking.
Condolences to Rush for his loss. I am a cat type person too, though my wife and I have a dog (Jack Russell) and 5 snakes, in addition to our 8 cats. Some are adopted, some have adopted us.
Our cats are Midnight (black), Pickle (orange tabby), Wobbles (gray tabby with a neurological problem, she wobbles), Dill (another orange tabby), Puma and Munchkin (original names Plus and Minus, tabby and siamese mix - tabbamese?), Dust Bunny - rescued frkm the brink of death, and Bubbles - she snores and bubbles.
We have had several more come in and out of our life - Thomas, Crockett, Mr Chang, Tom Tom and Twilight. AND last but not least was little Grace, a deformed kitten with leg issues. We did our best for her. But she was not able to live long.
Bless Rush and ALL the people that will give homes and care to animals i
n need.
Oh how sad to lose an animal you love. RIP Kitty.
The same thing happened to my dear Phoebe. She just stopped eating.
Very sad.
So sad to hear! I’m sorry, Rush. I know what it’s like.
Glad you got to know how great cats can be, though.
Very sad. We had to let our dog go back in March. It’s tough.
Looks like my Ashley. Ashley died in 1997, aged about 14 or 15, lung cancer.
Punkin ping
Rush kitty ping.
You’re so right.
I doubt I will ever have a dog or cat in my life as those who both died about 17 years ago. Never before, for sure.
No pains Rush. That was one the most fortunate cats in the world. Time for another kitty from the pound.
