Supporters of the Ruch Chorzow team, who were in the town of Gdynia for a cup match, clashed with 56 Mexican navy cadets from the Cuauhtemoc training ship who were taking a break from their drills.

Chairs were hurled, parasols toppled and beach towels flung to the side as dozens of men attacked each other. A crowd of onlookers stood in their swimwear watching, until the mass of brawling men came closer to their vantage point.

How many Polish hooligans does it take to topple a parasol?

They’re actually the ones doing most of the heavy lifting against the drug cartels. Unlike the army and police, they’re mostly untainted by corruption.

Yes, the Navy had one hour of fuel for a rescue mission that took three days in San Felipe, Baja about five years ago

I know the policy of the United States Navy when on shore leave in a foreign country. If there is even a hint of a conflict with locals, clear out and get back to the ship. Anyone caught involved in a brawl with locals gets UCMJ Captain’s Mast and possibly court martial for officers.

A sensible policy. In this case I suspect that punishments might be slaps on the wrists. And to indulge in wild speculation, something tells me that this cadets will be privately lauded my the Mexican navy for their fighting spirit and esprit d’corps.
