Don’t forget BS for historically based shows about conservatives.
H - general homosexual content, allusions or endorsements
I also want to block any such shows or commercials from entering my home
of course, this would leave very little left to watch (I guess that’s one of the reasons I dropped cable 2-3 yrs ago)
AFC = Absolute Friggin Crap,
DWT = Don’t Waste your Time,
CTC = Change The Channel,
LTM = Listen To Music,
SFL = Show Full of Libs,
GFW = Go For Walk,
DSE = Do Something Else,
PMS = Put Me to Sleep,
WAM = Watch Another Movie (DVD),
GTS = Go To Sleep
...
DAM - “Dad’s A Moron”, but that would apply to most every show (and most commercials).
MD - Mumbling Dialogue. I have noticed how common this is these days.
Closely related and even more common is WD - Whispering Dialogue. I guess actors and directors consider whispering to be very cool even if you have no idea what is being said.
Though that can be assumed for the major network shows anyway.
ASC = Annoying Shaky Camera - Why they continue to make shows/movies this way is beyond me.
MSR = Multiple Scene Replay - Because showing the same explosion 15 times from different angles is, well, what?
You’re one sick bastard!
I3 (Idiotic, Insulting, and Insidious)
STTV (Shoot The TV)
ADSIP (Agenda Driven Socialists Impersonating People)
SCUM (Socialists Collecting Uninformed Money)
Good idea, Larry (I have watched very little movies or t.v. in the last 10 years and have trended toward zero in the last several).
XCS - Excessive Camera Shaking to simulate “action” to avoid the costs of a real “action” scene.
May I suggest:
DIS - Dialogue in Spanish
More and more shows are including lines in Spanish without translation.
I must flag this post for future reference.
This is great.
DPBR and MD!
You noticed that too? I thought it was me getting old, blind, and deaf!
But your post has helped me realize it’s not ME, it’s THEM!
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!! :-)
CHW (Cankles, Huma & Weiner)
RL = Raving Leftism
GEP — Gratuitous Ethnic Pronunciations
Where ethnic names are pronounced with all the inflections of the native tongue (because to anglicize would be insensitive). Invariably heard in NPR and PBS news productions.
NA = Not Applicable, No TV.
