I’m 1/3 of the way through Atlas Shrugged, which i had never read, and the similarity to our present reality is mindblowing. I knew the book was good, but i didn’t realize it would be this gripping.
It’s been a few years now, ok more than a decade, but what I think Ayn Rand did best is describe the vilians. They are with us in the modern day. Writing things like the “Fair Share Act” and “Anti Dog Eat Dog Act” isn’t all that far from what happens today.
Wait till you get to the scintillating sex scenes. ;-)
My budget does not permit newer vehicles, but I’ve never done that-can’t miss what you never had-I’m happy with an old 4X4 SUV/Truck that goes where I need it to go, out here in the land of few paved roads-and I’m totally not into cameras, GPS, etc-it is creepy to me-driving is breathing space-if I want/need to communicate, I’ll turn down the stereo, pull way off the road and call or text safely on my cell phone...
I read “Atlas Shrugged” again about 2 years ago, and was newly inspired to go galt. I just started reading Ira Levin’s “This Perfect Day” again, for another chilling take on where we are now...
