I think I am going to open a breakfast taco drive thru.. It would make a killing. It might work in Alaska, but I saw it fail in Minneapolis in the late 1980s, and it was a very high quality, small Mexican chain from Texas with the fresh ingredients and that in Texas also had the 99 cent Margarita.
In Minneapolis they finally dropped the breakfast, but they were still surviving on the rest of the day when I left. I did see Russell Means having breakfast there though.

I really wanna make a go of it.
My sister seems to think it will do well in Fairbanks... lots of transplanted Texans there she says.
I am tired of the same ol same ol here and feel the change in my bones.

I think Fairbanks is probably more diverse and daring than Minneapolis was.
Minnesota was incredibly bland and routine oriented, farmer like.

One of those contingencies I wouldn’t have even thought to plan for. I hope all goes well for them.

Knew Sam Egli in high school many moons ago. Told me at the time that he wanted to buy a DC-3 and go to Alaska. Said it with enough authority that I remember the comment 40+ years later. Don't know if he ever got the DC-3 itself ... but it appears he lived his dream.
