Wow - guess I just missed the deals. People all over internet got $5-$20 ticket deals. Entire booking site is now showing NO TICKETS available for any flights.
September 11 observance?
What are the baggage charges?
AL qaida takes a new tack... will take credit for trying to bankrupt airlines by nightfall...
ahahaha I KNEW there was a HOOK!
Got a source for this? If it’s true, I wonder if someone that doesn’t like United (and there are many) decided to play some hacking games.
It was clearly a malfunction of some sort (probably human-induced), and the contract of carriage usually provides them some sort of an out for it...
We can’t book tickets here at work - did some checking on travel sites and people all over are talking about $5 deals:
now see?
If they had hired me to write their software they would ot have had this problem...
You would have to pay me to fly with United ever again. And $5 wouldn’t do it.
Went from DTW to LAX then back to DTW(an hour or so later).
Seats were all booked(all destinations)shortly after promo was offered, yet on both flights I was on the planes were only about half full.
(held back seats, travel agents, people with second thoughts flying on the 1 year anniversary of 9/11...???).
One reason I remember that flight(other than it being on 9/11)was they handed out American flag lapel pins, they were wrapped in plastic and labeled "Made in China".
groping and the worst customer service on the planet are complimentary
Given the 4th Amendment violations by the TSA this is $4.95 too expensive.
Yes, it was a malfunction. The statement:
” Update: United Airlines officials confirmed that an error resulted in certain fares displaying incorrectly some even as zero. The glitch lasted a couple of hours before being corrected.
“As to the tickets that were sold, were in the process of evaluating this and as always will do what is appropriate,” a United Airlines spokesperson tells CultureMap.
