ZoNation: What Can Republicans Do for the Black Community?

Zo keeps getting asked what Republicans can do for the Black community. He says they can do a lot, but only if the community stops being in lockstep with the Democratic Party. Stop being brainwashed long enough to hear the answer. See video.

I think there are some situations where conservatives could do ourselves, blacks, and America some real favors.

I personally would love to see some privately funded scholarships to take the best and brightest inner city kids out of inner city schools and pay for good conservative private schooling. It doesn’t even need to be race based to impact blacks the most. If you target poor inner city kids, you’ll naturally impact blacks the most for creating more Ben Carsons.

Nothing...until they grow up and start referring to themselves as the “American Community”. If they want to be a nation in a nation, then let’s give them a reservation! After all, its worked so well for the Native Americans. </sarc>

What can they do for themselves? Always wanting someone else to come in and clean up the mess they created.

The black community needs a strong private economy in order to provide jobs. The Dems have been bribing the black community with welfare and government jobs, but unless the private economy is strong enough to sustain government overhead, it all comes crashing down.

Hero worship of Jesse Helms by the man who may well be the candidate in 2016 probably won’t help. For all his good points, Helms’ support of segregation, his opposition to any and all Civil Rights legislation, his filibuster of the King holiday, and his support for apartheid South Africa isn’t going to play well with black people, conservative or otherwise.

I think the whole problem has its roots in 'doing for'. Let them do it. Really. Another program, another gimmie, another set-aside. Trillions poured down the urban rathole have bought us more trouble, not less.

Let the black community clean up its own messes. Don't fund it, don't patronize it, and don't support the scammers. Let them do for themselves.

No outside intervention will ever be appreciated. The problems must be solved from within.

In Texas, our Republican State Party is opening year round offices in areas where we need to know the people. It is a proven fact that a physical presence is the best way to connect with people. You won't find a Democrat year round office in many places. I would say none, but I could be wrong but I don't think so. I suppose they have a state office.

Anyway, if sitting in Austin in a state office is all you do, it's not enough. The voters are in the counties and that is where the emphasis must be to get out your message.

“Everybody has asked the question. . .”What shall we do with the Negro?” I have had but one answer from the beginning. Do nothing with us! Your doing with us has already played the mischief with us. Do nothing with us! If the apples will not remain on the tree of their own strength, if they are wormeaten at the core, if they are early ripe and disposed to fall, let them fall! I am not for tying or fastening them on the tree in any way, except by nature’s plan, and if they will not stay there, let them fall. And if the Negro cannot stand on his own legs, let him fall also. All I ask is, give him a chance to stand on his own legs! Let him alone!”  Frederick Douglass

We already have the NAACP.

You know what I think.? I think we should do nothing for blacks. That's right nothing.

Either all men were created equal or not. In the USA, there is no slavery, no laws preventing anyone of any race from success.

It is well past the time for blacks to get off their high horse and quit expecting special treatment and favor.

I'm white and I could not afford college, sometimes I couldn't afford food. You know what? I got up off my lazy butt and found a job anyway.

I've waited tables and washed cars. All I ever wanted was to be a secretary and work in an office, can you believe that? I set a goal for MYSELF - and worked for it. I knew I'd never be a CEO, but I was gonna be the best at what I could be.

I'm still not college educated, but I'm a proven asset at any company I have worked for. Right now, I'm “just a secretary” who makes a larger wage than most college grads.

Blacks don't need favors...they need work ethics.

Then do nothing. I’m going to do all I can to lure blacks and the growing number of whites off the plantation. Whipping them off the plantation isn’t going to work.

What an exceptional mind was Frederick Douglass.

He was right up there on the top rank, in my opinion. In all history.

Every US Citizen has the opportunity to make something of themselves. Many choose not to, and there’s not much that can be done about that.

Whipping them?

Do you equate blacks working for their own success as whipping them?

If so, you are part of the problem.
