Looks like the guy has had a series of incidents over the years.

Probably had issues as a Sailor as well, NJP and such. I know AEs are required to have secret clearances. If they rack up problems (legal, financial, etc.) in their personal lives, they can lose their clearance and their rate. Sometimes the Navy will find a different rate for Sailors who lose their clearance. Most often, they show them the door and in January '11, the Navy was kicking Sailors out left and right as part of their "force shaping" (i.e. "downsizing") policies. This is probably what happened to Petty Officer Alexis.

What may be surprising to some, it isn't at all unusual for the Navy to kick Sailors out and then turn around and rehire them as civilian contractors. I've seen this happen many times.

+1 That’s what I thought too so we both saw it that way. The guy looks a bit like Garnett and in a general way, this Alexis looks like he could be a wide-end type or something in football. 6’1”, okay, so maybe not exactly tall.

I think most are damned tired of you anti-blog bullshit.

Keep on trying with all that "thinking" stuff.
You'll master it someday maybe.

Shouldn’t you be trolling the nursing home hallways now?

Naw, it's Bingo night with Jello-fruit-salad.

Nothing going on in the hallways for at least an hour.

My ex-son-in-law was demoted more then he was promoted.

You'll have to explain that one.

I wish the military would just do away with those automatic awards, but they have to keep AAFES/NEX and Vanguard happy.

He once told his CO to F off, I know he got in trouble for that.

You’re sweet to have done that research.

I’m sorry to tell you that I’m forever out of your reach.

I might be persuaded to sell you some personal memorabilia though.

the reporting of the 90s lead to a change in tactics by terrorists world wide.

in the 90s, a terrorist attack would be reported as a random act or accident. nothing to see here, move along. although a valid tactic by not allowing the terrorist his media exposure... it lead to chain attacks. terrorists would hit a target, wait for tv and emergency personnel to show then strike again. tough to deny the terrorism at that point.

He was awarded the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal prior to his discharge in January 2011.

I think that anyone who serves any time in the military gets the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. It's nothing out of the ordinary.

He was another servant of satan. That’s why he killed other people on his way out. All of these people are evil, not troubled, as some would have you believe. If I am tired of being here and want to leave, why would I try to take a bunch of innocent people with me? He was not sick, just rotten!

A U.S. Navy spokesman said that Alexis was an 'aviation electrician's mate' - ranked as a third class petty officer and served at the Naval Air Station in Fort Worth, Texas.

Equivalent of a corporal in the Army, E-4.

He was awarded the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal prior to his discharge in January 2011.

IIUC, those are awarded to all members of units involved rather than as individual medals.

“So will we hear that he converted to Islam?”

Guess not. I think he died too so he won’t get that chance in jail.
